Not those cool cool places but classic and traditional. Nice pastry and local atmosphere. Love it. A must visit.

One of the best places to eat goo Alentejo food in Beja. Don't expect any gourmet posh experience but real Alentejo food. Average price for 2 - 16€. On the down side, there's no air-conditioning and Beja can be pretty hot (around 38ºC) in summertime, Anyway, it's very worthful!

Sunday most of the restaurants are close in Beja. We arrive after try other options that were better ranked in the trip advisor. Not bad not fabulous. Price/quality not the best..... We pay 40 euros for normal lunch (2 adults and to child's <3years) and no Wine and deserts. You can find better arround if is not a Sunday😀

Had a good meal there at--for local standards--above average prices. On the ground floor there is a bar, the restaurant is upstairs. During my meal there was one other eater, still, the waiter had so much atrention for the other eater--apparently an acquaintance--that I lacked proper service. The food was good though. The restaurant is in the center of the... More

Nice settings on the first floor up, the place serves good Alentejo food for a good price. Maybe not the most popular place in town but seems to have been operating for a long time. Staff was friendly and provided good service.

A very old traditional restaurant/café. Nothing too fancy but the food was good and affordable. Frequented by locals and visitors and situated in the busiest part of town.

We ate in the upstairs restaurant, and it was a dissapointment. As we arrived, there was another couple leaving; so that left us a the only customers in the restaurant. None of the food that we ate was very good, and the fish definately did not taste very fresh. The atmosphere upstairs is like a time warp back to the... More

On Sunday, we spent the cafe to eat something. Was late for lunch, so we thought something light. There was not much variety of snacks. Only bifanas and dogs. Little friendly service and very time consuming. Well located, but to avoid.

Luiz da Rocha is a landmark in the city of Beja and especially an unavoidable reference in the Alentejo convent sweets. Coffee, pastry and restaurant Luiz da Rocha is a pleasant and unique space that brings to the city of Beja the atmosphere of a classic cafe with 120 years of history, success and distinction. Among the many specialties of... More

we were alone on Easter monday (no holiday in PT) but the waited seemed to be disturbed by us on his soccer watching. TV was more important than the guests (switching programm, volume etc.) The food was nice though they don't offer meja dose (for 1 person usually enough) and they don't like that guest share "uma dose". "vinho da... More
