This place is a bit touristy. There were a lot of people and just one waiter, so he seemed quite stressed out. We had a dish that was bread soaked with cod. The restaurant's theme was a wine cellar. We got glasses of wine poured from some sort of barrel. I can imagine they fill up the barrels daily from... More

Rustic and somewhat dark venue - obviously Portuguese families´ favourite that provides a pleasant shelter especially on a hot and sunny day. The menu featured some classics from Alentejo (we had acorda and bacalhau with potatoes and eggs - delicious) in generous portions. The restaurant saved us on Labour Day when many other restaurants were closed.

But the rest of the meal was just okay. One man was working the whole restaurant and it was too much to provide any level of customer service. There were language barriers and limited choices. The restaurant setting was unique and wine was served in a jug filled from a barrel. Pork steak was very dry, tomato soup was tasty.... More

This was our first stop after the flight over and drive to Evora. The food was typical Portuguese. We went with the friendly recommendation to share the soup and continued with the black pork cutlets. The house red wine was nothing special as one would expect but more than adequate for a Alentejo country lunch. I always hesitate to give... More

We arrived here after a friend recommending, but it was really disappointing... the place is special and truly typical, but the food, at least what we ordered, was simply normal...

This was our fourth visit to Evora and this restaurant which is a favourite. Amazing regional tomato soup and good house wine. It is a great experience.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel we stayed at. Enormous portions - we shared the delicious tomato soup (served with bread, little sausage pieces and a poached egg) and the porco preto - a feast for two people - followed by a delicious sericaia cake for dessert. The local wine was poured from a barrel. Outstandingly good food and... More

Lovely rustic atmosphere, friendly host and Excellent food, we shared the tomato soup and then the Porco Preto, then treated ourselves with local cake dessert. Local wine by the 0.5 litre which was excellent; plenty of food for two people and the cost only 30 Euros. Best value we have had in Portugal

Amazing tradicional food. Recommend the tomato soup and the migas, both excellent and well prepared. Not an expensive meal for that quality.

Adega do Alentejano is an excellent choice. We started with covert of bread & olives, and a glass of house wine. We split an order of the tomato soup with sausage bits, and finished with cake with syrup topping and candied plum and ginjinha – a home made cherry liquor that was very tasty. The meal was excellent - and... More
