I am a vegetarian, I was told by a friend who is a regular customer there and suggested me to have the famous tomato soup that I could ask for a vegetarian option, and they said they could only make it with meat. I asked for eggs and asparagus and they were out of asparagus. The servant guaranteed that the... More

Nice and authentic old mill, very interesting place. Food is good. Typical from Alentejo. Recommended Açorda and porc meet. Also good cakes for dessert. Moderate price.

This is one common choice in Évora, no one looking forward for typical food of Alentejo would get disappointed at any moment coming here for a meal. The atmosphere is like everyone’s grandmothers (local) houses used to be in the past. And similar words might be said as well about the food! The appetizers, dishes and desserts are excellent, as... Three of us had such - it was simply awful. We had several starters and mains. NOTHING was good. Even the service was poor.

We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant while on tour with Lisbon Riders. It is located on the outside skirts of the town of Evora and is part of an old functioned windmill. Everything is authentic with old fashioned decor. The food is typical Alentejo and mostly locals frequent the restaurant. When we went the place was full as... More

I´ve repeated this restaurant for more than 4 times. This is a restaurant that I use when I´m near by. I´ve been there in business and with my family. The food is good and it´s traditional and the decoration uses old furniture and publicity signs from the beginning of the century. "Moinho" is the Portuguese word for Mill. Actually the... More

Situated just outside Évora's historic centre, where the original windmill still stands and it's usually open for visiting, the restaurants inside decor is genuine and traditional recalling the typical old houses - very cosy. But the delicious food is of course the main star plus the big serving portions make for a great visit for a family or big group... More

It starts with the decoration of the restaurant, seems like you've entered a family house in the year 1940, the decoration is spotless, it looks like everything is as it was 60 years agora. Amazing decoration, we love it and it's our 3rd time here. The food is regional, and very well cooked. The amounts could be a bit bigger... More

In this "casa de petiscos" you can find lot of the typical Alentejo dishes with the difference this are served next to an old windmill that the owners do not hesitate on showing to the more curious... Normally the restaurant is full so its better to reserve in advance. I would recommend the pork with potato chips and as dessert... More
