My wife and I in the Area for the second year running had returned from a morning's Site-seeing and we're looking for lunch. We had seen this place while strolling on the previous day and her eye had been drawn to the "grilled fish" on the board outside. We decided to give it a go and were rewarded big time.... More

Strangely enough, we were only two couples in this cafe-type restaurant. My wife wanted rabbit, and was very happy with the tasty dish. I wanted to try chicken piri-piri for the first time. It will not be the last! It tasted so good! It hadde a warmth, but did not burn. Prices were on the cheap side, food on the... More

Good varied cold buffet starter with friendly helpful staff. The starter tends to fill you up so choose carefully to do justice to the main course. 19.90€ per head didnt cover couvert or drinks or coffee

We went out to dinner late afternoon as a family to Casa d' Avo. The restaurant was quiet because most people were watching soccer. The waitress was very welcoming and spoke English well. She explained the menu to us and we ordered the Cataplana fish stew for two which at €14 was exceptional value. My sons ordered hamburgers and french... More

Welcomed at the door by a non English speaking Ted Bovis look alike with a friendly smile, we sat down in a clean and comfortable old fashioned Portuguese restaurant. The food on the first night was so good we went back on two more occasions, we eat a lot of fish in Portugal, so we tried to eat food we... More

We had the mixed fish platter which was an adventure! The waiter was really friendly and although he couldn't speak English I think he said that we had sea bream, sardine and 2 other fish that I'm afraid I've forgotten. Really nicely cooked but of course watch out for all the bones! Just missed out on the 5 stars as... More

It was recommended fellow travelers and locals - we had lunch there first which was a buffet of dozens of dishes. We had Easter Sunday dinner there the following week and it was delicious.
