I always worry when several things are not on the menu as advertised. Already a pretty basic menu not having a number of dishes was not a good start. The restaurant is old, service not bad and it definitely looked like a locals place. My meal was not well cooked (house style steak) but my wife's salmon was not bad.... More

We came hungry. The one in charge gave us 1 menu, sign of a possible shortage. I ordered a salad mixta, asked for lemon . In vain. For the main dish I took the pig while she took the sardins. The sardins did cost twice,:still were 10 time better. The pig resisted any effort to get by. Seriously, a bad... More

I found out about be this place because I was staying in a hotel closed to it. Is not the typical fancy restaurant, but rather a traditional one. I ordered "Robalo" fish and it was great, it comes with salad and potatoes! Also if you still have room for dessert, try their flan!

We visited this restaurant with friends because we wanted to try some typical portuguese food. We got separate room just for us. It started good- with the tasty soup and quite nice house wine. But then was worse and worse. Sardines were terrible and vegetables and potatoes even worse. Shrimps were not peeled and it was necessary to remove the... More

We ate Faz Frio twice while staying in Lisbon. It's an old fashioned place, both in the decor- think 1950s, or earlier, and in the quality of food. The fish is fresh and delicious, as is the meat. We asked our waiter to tell us what was on the 'Portuguese' list of the menu, which wasn't on the English menu,... More

For most Portuguese people, this is not a Restaurant: it's their Grandmother's kitchen! If you're Portuguese and miss your (grand)parents traditional food, or if you're curious about old fashion Portuguese dishes, you must go to Casa Faz Frio. That's where you'll find: the most wonderful and affordable (always generously served) "Bacalhau à Braz" (sliced dried cod and fries, mixed with... More

Faz Frio is a very simple restaurant. Both in terms of the food, as in terms of the interior. But we loved it very much. The food was quite heavy but full of taste. We had a great garlic soup and something with sausages. Staff was very friendly and the prices were astonishingly low. So what are you waiting for?

It's a classic place in Lisbon. Simple, popular and unsofisticated. If you're lucky, order a paella or valencia's ride. A delicacy of flavours.
