It was a brilliant meal - the "Espetada de vaca" is out of this world, not to mention the starters and desserts...it is a bit expensive and formal, but it is worth the trip.

Was a large team dinner, but found the menu tasty, service nice. Located inside the mall, allowed you to do some shopping to walk off the filling dinner

In the mall, a little challenging to find (behind the McD)... quaint interior, very old town, staff very attentive and takes very good care, steaks were well done, nice flavor, choc dessert worth it. going back...

Serving typical Portugeese fayre, is what attracted us and we were not disappointed. Lovely setting and delightful, very attentive but not obtrusive service. Various local appertisers, fish fritters, sausage and asparagus - lovely flavours. Main courses included grilled meats with pineapple, perfectly cooked and great quality. The best compliment we could pay this establishment is that we never, ever order... More

A quiet, classy place in the major shopping center in Madrid. The ambiance is a step above what one usually sees in shopping malls, tasteful and subdued with a rustic flair. We had the fish soup (very good) and grilled filets (also good, but we have had better. The menu is heavy on meats. The wine list is adequate, as... More

After trying to visit another local restaurant which was closed we ended up here. The menu enticed us to try, and we were taken upstairs and seated. The speciality salted codfish was served with raw onion and garlic which, when we enquired, was correct. The fish was dry and tasted almost stale and swimming in either garlic butter or oil... More

Food was very good but a little bit expensive. We tried the Espetada Madeirense and it was very tasty. The madeira wine with the dessert was very good.

Food was representative of Madeira cooking. Meat was excellent, waiters dressed in traditional costume. The place was full, suggesting it is well know. The hotel spoke highly of it. Too bad it is in commercial center. But we were with excellent friends and couldn't care less about the environment.

Accidentally saw this intriguing restaurant tucked in a 'food court like' area of Amoreiras Shopping Center, so finally decided to give it a try, and surprisingly, the restaurant's wood-structurall style is admirable. Our server was a very helpful/nice guy who speaks good English. Delectable regional food, tasty appetizers and yummy dessert! So had lunch again the following day - again,... More

"O Madeirense" was the first restaurant offering Madeira cuisine in Lisbon, especially the famous "Espetada" and "Filetes de Espada". They're still good at it, but somehow I feel they have less passion for what they do and serve... The Espetada has good, tender meat and comes with fries and fried corn, and this is one of the few places I... More

Staying in Principe Real

Neighbourhood Profile
Principe Real
From the splendid garden and its cafe-kiosk to its restaurants, Príncipe Real is more than worthy of a visit and it won't let you down: its attractions include "Pavilhão Chinês" (one of the more eccentric interior designs you'll ever see), museums and a fantastic botanical garden. It's also a commercial neighborhood, and you can visit a renovated Palace, home of the Embaixada (embassy) trendy shopping center with its cafes, art galleries and luxury shops... and even if you don't buy anything, take a look inside just for its marvellous interiors. On top of this, Príncipe Real offers a variety of places to eat: if you're in a hurry, drop by "Pizza a Pezzi"; and if you're not, taste the delicious Honorato hamburgers, Argentinian cuisine at La Paparrucha and also great, delicious Portuguese food at Tascardoso!
