I can't say too much about the food, but the location is great during the day or at night for grabbing a coffee or beer and people watching outside.

The service is unbelievably slow and the pastries are lousy. However, if you just want to sip coffee and watch the world go by while you sit at a sidewalk table, then perhaps Cafe A Brasileira will do.

This place is absolutely awful; do not go here. While ordering a coffee, the staff passed us by with leaking trash bags leaving the nasty "trash juice" all over the floor and our shoes/legs. There was no apology or whatsoever. This place has no hygiene,...More

This really is just a tourist trap. Avoid if you are going just for coffee. It is nice to tick it off the list perhaps but found it crowded and too hot.

Brasileria Café dated the beginning of the 20th century. It's got a beautiful art-deco façade and beautiful painting inside. However it's very popular with tourists and it's hard to find a seat here.

We stopped here after spending all day walking around Lisbon and we were not disappointed. This cafe has a great atmosphere and there's lots going on all the time. Great coffee, great service, and great nata!

I went here at 9;30 on a Sunday morning and immediately wished I had arrived at 8:00 when it opened. All the tables outside were full, but I didn't care because I wanted to sit inside anyway. The decor is art deco and really cool....More

I regretted that I visited the cafe only because of its name. The food was waaay below average. The service is ignorant and bad. Avoid! Ufff...

Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally,
"squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers
plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can
stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its
streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and
viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the
famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa,
having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used
