We went here for an evening meal during a short visit in February. There was no need to make a reservation but this was a very quiet time of year. We were following a recommendation from friends and were not disappointed. Both our main fish dishes were very good. The service is welcoming.

Been here yesterday, had some of the best wines, a wonderful vinho verde and a sensational red. Came back today for a tasty dinner, accompanied by the same top notch wines. Just excellent. Service is best in class. Enjoy.

A very quit place, in downtown Lisbon. very tasty food in a vintage environment. The decoration is soft but with meaning: old fotos and advertisements. Perfect to a romantic dinner but also perfect to a dinner with friends. It´s open for lunch too.

Stopped here with business colleagues last week. This is an great little restaurant with some really tasty dishes. I had fish which I usually stay away from while eating out; the flavour was fantastic. The staff were helpful, funny and spoke English. All in all definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Cute place, friendly service from the female owner. The problem was, we both ordered the salmon and it was obviously previously frozen -- it had no texture whatsoever. We eat fresh wild salmon at least 2x a week at home, so we know what it tastes like.

We came here quite by chance and loved it. Great friendly service, beautiful surroundings (in an old bank). Nice background music. Very good menu. Well worth a visit.

After walking pass this restaurant multiple times during my stay in Alfama, I decided to give this restaurant a try. My boyfriend, being born and raised in Lisbon has never been to this restaurant as well, so we both wanted to experience something new together. After a long day at the beach, we decided to grab a late night dinner.... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
