So many things to like about this place- the staff were lovely, my caipirinha was one of the best (and definitely the cheapest) I've ever had, there were really interesting choices on the menu. It felt like a non-touristy place in the middle of the touristy part of the city- the prices were great too. I would have liked a... More

After 10 days of Portuguese food we were ready for a change. We took a short walk down the street from our rental and walked in to this great restaurant. Our first night we enjoyed our meals of minestrone soup, eggplant Parmesan, pizza and the best risotto we've had in a long time. We couldn't pass up desert and they... More

The Italian restaurant served great food and wine all were fairly priced, fresh and delicious, the staff were attentive and when they arrived with appetizers they pointed out the prices and the point that we did not need to have them, we drank house wine both red and white which were great. After being dissappointed with some of the town... More

Found this place for lunch. Lots of locals, friendy staff and more important, good food. Had pizza and lasagna, both with great taste. Excellent wine list. I would recommend this place any time when you want genuine italian food and avoid tourist oriented reataurants

My daughter missed her pasta, but as I expected, the place has not much to do with real Italian food. Furthermore, they make you pay the bread they serve before ordering. The typical touristic trap...

Went here quite a few times and had a great meal every time. The pasta dishes are all cooked to perfection and the the bill was always very reasonable. About 30 euros per visit. This was for two of us, having bruchetta, bread, butter, 2 pasta dishes and 2 cappuchinos. Excellent value.

Perfectly nice Italian food. May have been a coincidence that the wine our waitress suggested was the most expensive on the menu. We were ok with that - table wine in Lisbon is very reasonably priced, as is the food. Bit disturbing to be billed for a couple of items which we hadn't been served. Advice would be eat there... The pasta was excellent the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was minutes from where we were staying and was a nice change from the usual menus found on and off Rua Augusta.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
