The only positive this place has going for it is a nice location alongside a park. The food was absolutely terrible which matched the service. Our waitress never, ever even attempted to grin at us or any of her surrounding tables. She was miserable. The food was the equivalent of eating at a hot dog stand. The mixed salad had... More

If I'm honest we weren't expecting much from the tourist restaurants of belem, but this was ok, my swordfish in caper sauce better than my wife's pork steak but between the two of us we ate well and didn't leave disappointed parting with 25 Euro. Young waiter did well when I complained about cork in my glass of wine replacing... More

Considering that it is in an area with a lot of restaurant and all of the same type, the restaurant needs to improve the food. The service was reasonable and the location great but it was empty comparing with the rest. Even so, we went in (we were convinced by the offers of the day) but the food turned out... More

Had a sword fish with potatoes but had the feeling that the potatoes were not freshly done. The dishes we ordered together were mot brought to the table around the same time. So some where done while others were still waiting. The drinks took long. For some we had to remind the waitress. A second drink was not delivered at... More

Traditional food, ok, overpriced like all in this locality. Service has had charm bypass. No offer of wine list. No invitation to taste the wine. No ice bucket.no glasses as they were already filled with water and had to be taken off neighbouring table.

The location is great but I'm afraid there were a number of problems that need reporting. The bread that I ordered to accompany my soup only arrived 9 minutes after my Shrimp soup was delivered to the table. One of my friends was burned by the plate as the waitress was serving the meal. My wife ordered a pan fried... More

We were hesitating to try this restaurant as it is in a very touristic area but we didn't regret it. Very tasty fish and very good service! Would definitely try again!

My wife and I were visiting Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon and wanted to have a nice lunch nearby. We decided on Cais De Belem as the owner came out and asked if he could help. We were with another couple and decided the atmosphere was perfect--quiet, shaded, with cool Lisbon breezes. Service was excellent, although do not go there if... More

Wonderful and friendly staff. An outdoor setting is available, but this evening we opted for the indoor section. White tablecloths, nice touch. The food was lovely and the fish was deboned expertly at the table. Would come back...

My husband and I went for a late lunch here. We were seated right away and the service was very friendly. But that was the best part of the meal. I ordered the vegetable soup, which was ok and uninspired. Then the mushroom omelet that is also quite fine. My husband had the sirloin steak. Meat was a bit tough... More

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
