Best place we could find in Lisbon. The atmosphere of this place with the old couple running it is something no to be missed. The food is not very sophisticated, rather traditional and simple, but it's very tasty and portions are big. Try Gambas or...More

Because of the huge amount of great ratings we went there. Seemed like the TripAdvisor fame was a bit too much for them. The staff was pretty unfriendly and we had to wait like 15 min before we even got the menue. But the worst...More

We had a wonderful baccala, cooked in a delicious home made style I had never tried before, and some excellent pork chops. The staff is VERY jovial and the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Visited on the recommendation of hotel staff, for a traditional Portuguese restaurant. Very small, basic, all in Portuguese although waitress very helpful. Surprisingly cheap for food and drink. Worth finding to try a 'local' restaurant.

It is worth trying to find this one. It's small with the tables very close to each other but that's a good way of meeting other people! One of the chaps next to us helped us translate the menu (in Portuguese). Prawns were delicious, if...More

One of the best places in Lisbon. Typical "home-made" food with lots of options. They don't reserve so you need to go early. Otherwise you'll be waiting for a long time to get a table.

It has a great friendly atmosphere. The vibe will set you rolling. Getting a table is not easy, as it's popular and you have to be persistent, but it's well worth the effort (or just arrive early for lunch). The "Tasca" cuisine is typical Lisbon...More

Unfortunately didn't get to try the food. We were seated outside and waited 20min before asking for a menu and being told to go take a photograph of the menu inside which was all in Portuguese and have cutlery thrown onto our table. Then left...More

A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
"Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake
construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755
earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the
Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the

It's a tiny place so I am assuming it's cash only. Order the Dorata fish ( My husband thought it was much better than the shrimp he had on our second visit. I ordered it both nights) Enjoy! p.s. if you head to Belem, and... More
