The place is in Belem next to the river, not far from the Monasterio and the tower. My experience of the place is limited since I was there only once for a light lunch. I had there the best bacalao of my 3 weeks in Portugal with as side a fresh salad. The service was friendly.

Was roaming around Belem on a really hot day trying to find somewhere with AC. That's what led me in here but the food is what caused me to stay. I looked around the menu at a bunch of dishes I've seen in Lisbon and Porto and noticed the special black pig. I tried something similar earlier in the week... More

I went in and they were closed. But that did not stop them going out of their way to help me, providing the tools to enable me to get my tyre off and fix my puncture. I couldn't have continued without their help

This restaurant has a niuce setting by the river but I'm afraid that's as good as it got for us. Although we got seen to quickly with bread and drinks, it took the best part of half an hour for our starter to come. We decided to share some chorizo. It was the fattiest, chewiest piece of "chorizo" we had... More

Authentic Portuguese food where the locals go. Our ship was in port until 10:30 PM. While we were eating, all of the tour bus drivers came to this restaurant for dinner. The service was excellent. There were eight of us, and we all tried something different. Everything was very tasty. The portions were huge and the prices were reasonable. And... More

This restaurant is very bad indeed. I'm portuguese and I usually go to that foot street to find out new restaurants to eat fresh fish and grilled meat. I know several ones, some a little good others a little low. But this one is of chart. The service. We seat down and no one comes to ask us nothing for... More

We decided to have lunch here and we're not disappointed. Two of us has fresh sardines which were excellent, and served with a nice salad. The other two had fried squid which was ok but fried thicker than we were used to, chalk it up to personal taste. The rose wine was nice. Good service and comfortable under the umbrella.... More

Nice dinner. Honest and traditional Portuguese food. Very friendly staff. We sat outside with the kids and could let them roam freely around.

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
