We stopped here for lunch to get away from the crowds just down a bit from Belem. Friendly staff, tasty food with plenty to eat. We had sea bass, Iberia pork and chicken which the children devoured... Tucked away in a side street this is the place to eat when visiting Belem.

I went there for my birthday, we had the octopus rice, which was very well done. The place is a bit small, so do plan in advance.

It's not in the direct Belém touristic area and you do not get a nice terrace view, but the food is really good. We had gambas and octopus and both were delicious. I like octopus and eat it quite a lot, but this one is top. Simple with some potatoes, onions and garlic. Didn't take starters or dessert, so you'll... More

The meal was very good, the starters too. Really liked the cheese :). Very small little restaurant, just around the corner of the tourists route, but authentic and friendly family, that is running it.

We were sightseeing near Belem and were looking for a place for lunch. We saw this restaurant mentioned in my travel book and we were glad we found it. We had a seafood/rice dish and the food was delicious. It is small but has friendly service and a local feel. Just a short walk from the sights in Belem. I... More

The kitchen is delicious. This place is visited by local citizens, so you can taste pork or beef dishes. Very kindful staff.

Looking for a family place in Belem to have a few drinks. Found this just near the coach museum. Very friendly and nice drinks. Good prices as well.

We were searching for o non-touristy restaurant in the Belem area. Thanks to reviews on Tripadvisor, we were delighted to find this small family run establishment just behind the Coach Museum. Fish dishes were excellent. Service was friendly. Some of the menu items are listed in English. With some gestures, we were able to discern the Portuguese descriptions of the... More

Located across the street from the carriage museum this family run restaurant is the quaint kind of place you know will have good food - I think we saw 3 generations of the family while there. We opted for their Arroz Mariscos - absolutely delicious. Chocked full of fresh seafood and seasoned perfectly. we visited on a quiet night for... More

This was recommended by top ten guide so we tried it. We had a nice salad with prawn omelette, good for a pit stop and away from the tourist throng. Little hard to find but is just after the palace de belem off Calcada Da Ajuda

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
