This place serves wonderful ice cream every flavour we had was great and we had quite a lot over our weekend in Lisbon. We also tried the famous world's best chocolate cake (i think it is layers of chocolate meringue with ganache) and had raspberry and coconut ice cream with it it was delicious!

Friendly, competent service (if a little slow) and tastefully decorated interiors, but it would be no exaggeration to say any random street corner in Italy will be likely to serve infinitely better ice-cream than this watered down, tasteless slop. Horrifically overrated. You're much better off going to the likes of Casa do Gelado, Pindô, and even Nannarella (which is also... More

We stopped twice--it is a local superstar attraction, and we cannot say no to handmade gelato. We learned that you have to pay first, then go to the counter to pick your flavors. The staff are super friendly here, too.

Our guide recommended Santini for a gelato/ice cream during our stop in Cascais. Many locations with many flavors to choose from. A welcome respite for the road weary tourist.

Passion fruit and raspberry...that's my choice each time when I'm at Santini's! Lovely sorbets! It's bit expensive, but worth trying and you definitely comeback for more...

Order and pay at the cashier and then pick your flavors from the guy at the ice cream counter. We chose quite a few flavors and the strawberry was the best!

This is a branch of a famous ice cream parlour and every time I've been, the quality of the ice cream is phenomenal. Only ever had the cone, but all the flavours I tried so far have been to notch. Cinnamon, hazelnut and pistachio was my last combination and each of them was delicious! Will definitely go again.

Santini has the best ice creams I've ever tasted. If you have the chance don't miss it and have try. Personally I love the fruit flavored ice creams and here there is no doubt. Fantastic!

My friend from Portugal recommended here especially strawberry flavor. When I visited, strawberry was not. I asked the staff which to try and both flavors were pretty good. You need to choose at least two flavors(minimum size from double).

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
