For those who like Indian food is worth knowing. I have been several times and I am always well attended. The food is delicious and with great price. Will definitely be back more often during stay in Lisbon.

We came with a small international group of four persons. The first reception was friendly with drinks and bread. But the main dish was an insult. The dish was served lukewarm, the SMALL piece of meat (grilled beef and asked for explicitly in two languages as rare / saignant) was overcooked and dry. On request it was taken away and... More

This little place, near the grand monument of discoveries and the UNESCO listed Torre Belem and the monastery, is a great restaurant serving fantastic, yummy food at reasonable prices. The chicken, veal, and prawns in curry a la Principe are excellent, so are the wild mushrooms with cheese. The place sells wine by the bottle and one can buy anything... More

The ambience is great with good acoustics, pleasant decor and even an outdoor yard. If you can bear with an indifferent service attitude and avoid to pay €6,50 for the bread with butter and oil, the food and excellent wine corkage fee from the garrafeira is well worth it. As a family of 3 we had a very tasty lamb... More

Our meat dishes were cooked to perfection and just the right spices. I had the cod. The restaurant had a very friendly atmosphere and since we ate early when there were no other customers, we got to eat with the cooks and some of the family who own the restaurant and that was really great. All of the food we... More

Difficult location, Food without flavor and very expensive. The worse thing is the unfair practice in this restaurant to charge the olive oil. Unbelievable and unacceptable.

Great Lunch. Food is traditional Portuguese dishes elevated to the next level. Elegant surroundings, also wine and other gourmet items for sale. Very tasty food, Pork roast, lamb stew, cumin flavored rice and açorda with spinach. Figs in wine and vanilla ice cream for desert. Good bottle of Alenteju. Good service and well worth it. For lunch we could have... More

Descobre, is a nice restaurant, that you enter through a small shop, full of fine portuguese wines, olive oil, sweets and cheese. The food is quite good and the service efficient and nice. The location, near Jerónimos, CCB and the Belém area is also quite good. Recommended.

While visiting Belem we had lunch at Descobre, a very fresh and modern restaurant with a nice traditional Portuguese menu. The food was very nicely done and served quickly and nicely.

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
