Existing in an old convent, this beautiful restaurant room has excellent food and wonderful service. A range of starters are provided at the beginning of the meal, all interesting and flavorful. But not for the patron who wants just simple food. The menu has very interesting fish, vegetarian and meat dishes. All of high quality. Unlike American restaurants, portion size... More

Went on the recommendation of a friend of my wife's and we were not disappointed. Behind an unassuming entrance the interior was delightful with lovely stonework and old tables and chairs . The staff were very both very efficient and knowledgeable working under the keen supervision of the owner who was resplendent in red trousers ! We thought that that... More

This place is a true treat in every sense. Lovely setting, very friendly staff and absolutely superb food. The starters in particular were a true explosion of textures and flavours. My friend and I both decided on a fish main course and were not disappointed. The blue cheese ice cream that came with the traditional custard based dessert was a... More

This is a fabulous venue, not too big with superb food and excellent service. The starter tasting menu is great be careful to leave room for mains and deserts all of which are at the same high standard. A little bit more expensive but well worth it

Over-priced and over-rated. Interesting building but that's all. The food was mediocre, scallops gritty and on the verge of being over-cooked. The situation regarding the, apparently, compulsory starters was farcical - we had to stop them coming so rapidly, as we couldn't keep up; also the only time in my life that I've been asked for a tip, let alone... I have been to this restaurant twice now and been very happy both times. The venue is an old monastery with great vaults and a beautiful inner garden. The menue starts with 8 (at least I lost track) small dishes served first cold, then warm, each of perfect size and bursting of great flavours. Not to fill tyou up, but... More

Special and pleasant location! Entradas (12.50€/person) are very much recommandable. Didn't take the oister (supll.5€), don't like oisters. Lot of choise in main dishes (fish & meat). Wonderful and delicious desserts. Take a taxi to and from. Staff very friendly, they accompanied us to taxi after the diner. It was a succesful dinner!

My wife and I had dinner with a Brazilian couple. Nice setting in one of Lisbon old boroughs. However the restaurant was full and awfully noisy. This restaurant was recommended as having excellent food. The food in fact was far from being excellent. The cod fish was not enough cooked, the lamb chops were tasteless as well as the scallops... Set in a centuries old convent, this superb restaurant never fails to impress me. I have dined here 5-times over the years on my trips to Lisbon and it remains excellent. Even better when the weather is warmer and tables are set-up in the central courtyard. The food is a mix of seafood and meats with game meats available. Last... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a patron at the same hotel. He went on and on about how great the food was and how many different appetizer courses there were that were delicious. He was right about the number of appetizers. We ate most of the appetizers but were warned by someone else to save room for the... More
