Recommended by taxi driver, this simple restaurant is about 5km east of Lisbon centre in the industrial port area. Packed with locals, the food was excellent. Superb fresh gambas for starters followed by grilled grouper and dourada with vegetables. All fresh and delicious. Worth the trip.

People rating this place below 5 stars have literally no idea about food. Fantastic ingredients, real Portuguese food. Not fancy, just a charrusqueria cooking specialities. Ask for cod or red meat, and enjoy the journey. Amén.

Great bacalhau and meat, served in huge rations. I cannot comment on the price as I was invited, but the quality of the food was good. A lot of traditional options, including desserts. As a side note, they had a lot of TVs hanging from the walls playing football (Champions League). Really big - and simple decorated - restaurant, really... More

Arrived early for lunch. Was greeted well and seated straight away even though lunch didn't start for another 20mins. Had bread, prosciutto, olives and wine to start. Ordered the cod, which it was famous for and the octopus and rice. Both meals were huge serves and were served quickly. Was a beautiful taste of the real Portuguese dishes. The restaurant... More

A nice place to eat with good food and fast and good service. Not the cheapest place but you get what you pay. Definitively will come back sometime.

Was there with my girlfriend and a friend. Although the cod looked very very nice, we went for meat. Both veal and the cabrito - we shared both - was extremely good. We ordered the "monte das servas" red wine, and it fitted very good. If you're looking for a typical portuguese restaurant without tourists, you'll be fine there. Just... More

We stopped by since this place was close to the Tile Museum (Museu Nacional do Azulejo) and because of the supposedly great bacalhau. We ordered the bacalhau and sardines. Some parts of the bacalhau were tender and delicious but some parts were tough to chew, almost rubbery. We had to leave half the dish uneaten. The sardines were better.

Words are useless to describe this amazing codfish! It's absolutely fro another galaxy! Potatoes with skin are also delicious and don't peel it! Eels stew and beans "dobrada" are also fantastic. Desserts are magnificent and they are based on conventual recipes!

Located near the expo area of Lisbon, this wonderful restaurant serves a mean bacalhau, along with typical dishes of Portuguese cuisine.

Very nice place for lunch: very laid-back. Simple and tasty dishes. A tiny warning though: portions are huge!
