We enjoyed the variety of the tapas, and there were good options for both the beef eaters as well as the pescitarians in our group.

First the location - straight on the middle of Sintra Natural Park, the soroundings are very beautiful. The restaurant is very open and fits quite well on the space. Service very good and friendly. The Tapas are excelent and a great choice for sharing. Good wine list. It is a bit pricey but worth it.

Everything is in its place, and the different white tones make a terrific contrast with the green outdoors. Excellent space and decor. The food, well, is all about tapas. With a twist. The Porco Ibérico is amazing, so as the Robalo in Leche de Tigre. The standard was set real high with this two. The Croquetes with a Catalan cheese... More

Their take on patatas bravas is truly spectacular, as was all the food we tried. Our waiter Diogo was masterful, and we felt extremely welcomed and charmed by the lovely hostess Danya. Lovely grounds as well.

Great tapas and stunning wine list. We've eaten here four times in total - the last time we had a party of 14 and they accommodated us no problem with a set tasting menu. The patats bravas have to be tried - amazing Portuguese take on an old Spanish dish.

Arola is a fabulous restaraunt. Sunday (Tapas Night) is when to go for dinner. Lunch is great every day. Avoid monday evening if you don't like spanish folk singing.

Spent our anniversary dinner there and were not disappointed. The amouse bouche were outstanding and dishes quite experimental. They dedicated us a cake and gave us a small gadget at the end to celebrate our anniversary. Top quality service too. If you are into fine dining, this is not to be missed.

Sunday is tapas night, and is not the best way to meet this magnificent restaurant. My previous experience was a superb tasting menu 3 years ago. This year I invited some friends and Sunday was the only day that we could go. We were informed that was "tapas night" and as a matter of fact you need to be lucky...... More

I believe Arola has great potential as a restaurant. The service is very good and the environment is very special. The iberic pork tapa was very good and we also tried the fish of the day that was fantastic. The wine was terrific. Try the Alavrinho region.

Arola's menus offer a creative and contemporary twist to Portuguese cuisine, mixing tradition and heritage with his inimitable modern approach. Like his mentor, Arola seeks to give diners unexpected contrasts of flavour and texture with the ultimate aim of provoking, surprising and delighting his guests. Food is available throughout the day and for dinner Arola's take on the Portuguese tapas will compete with his more elaborate main courses. Wines will be served from a glass cellar, situated mid-restaurant. Live Dj from Wednesday to Sunday.
