We were underwhelmed by this restaurant. It seemed very much to be about style rather than content, and although a number of the dishes were entirely competent, they were no more, even if they looked pretty on the plate. And it was very pricey - if I'm paying 20-25 Euros for a starter, it had better be brilliant. It was... More

We had the set lunch which was only 20 euro per person. Ambience was nice, a mix of modern and traditional. The food was exceptional, every dish was beautiful! Service was good too. Highly recommended!

Went for dinner and lunch and both times were excellent. The place is very well located ,right in the historic center, the atmosphere is quite nice, the service sofisticated. The food should please those who appreciate the right combination of ingredients and textures,in this case Portuguese based.

We were attracted by the awards this restaurant had won and were not disappointed though not overwhelmed either. It's a very pleasantly designed place and the service is very, very good! My wife had prawns in a garlic sauce and she found them fine while I had a carpaccio of fish ceviche looking like a piece of art. Before this... More

We had the two tasting menus - good sign when different diners can choose different ones - rather than both being forced to have the same. The service was excellency and from our first floor table we could see the chefs preparing each plate with precision. The flavours of each dish were superb and the presentation theatrical and creative. A... More

Amazing flavours, perfectly cooked fish and meat. We had the lunch menu, good size portion and absolutely great food in a sophisticated environment. The service was implacable from start to finish, truly recommended!

DOP was a culinary delight pre Easter. The range of flavours is amazing - we went from the a la carte - with plenty of little surprises between courses. The kid was particularly good. All the food was first rate with charming and efficient service, and wines that were reasonable for a restaurant of this quality. Very centrally located and... More

I've been here with family as we were passing through Porto. Really nice food, good attention to restaurant and food, staff all making an effort, would definitely come here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely meal.

Went for an anniversary dinner. She had "The Sea" and I had "The Land" chef's menus. Meal was very strong with a couple weak points. One dish had a bit of sand/grit in it and one of hers had a bit of eggshell. Other than that very good but for the price I expected a bit more attention to those... More

In the first quarter of 2010, Rui Paula returned to his homeland, OPorto, with the opening of the DOP restaurant. The new space is situated in the Palace of the Arts - Talent Factory, in Largo de S. Domingos in the historic city center, classified as World Heritage. This building is full of history.
It began as the S. Domingos Convent and remained active since the fourteenth century, as a venue for auctions and council meetings. In 1834, served as the headquarters of the Lisbon (later Portugal Bank), and between 1934 and 1989 hosted the Douro Insurance Company.
The Palace of Arts, now under the jurisdiction of the Youth Foundation, aims to "establish itself as a center of creativity and innovation of national and international excellence, professionally promoting young designers / artists, and be the dynamic center of the historic center as a cluster of arts and creative industries, enhancing its ability to attract creative professionals and tourism."
The concept of the Palace of Arts fits perfectly in the Rui Paula project, who understands the gastronomy field as a creation with a strong cultural component. DOP has been designed to operate as a good taste, space cosmopolitan and yet familiar, and the generator of exciting dining experiences.
The restaurant, with capacity for 65 people is provided with the latest equipment and has two distinct and complementary spaces: one show cooking, where the service is faster and more economical, and a traditional but innovative cuisine and dinning room.
