Menu in eight languages, which is important, although it doesn't suggest local food. But you can definitely find local food here. The mixed salad was fresh and large. The sea bass dish had two tasty fish, and we also liked the sardines. Service was decent.

This a small simple place. I think most people walked in because he had the soccer game on the television. We were the first ones there and it filled up quickly. The caldo verde was nice and hot. The sea bass was good and plentiful. The pork was a little tough. Good place for good meal.

Like another reviewer stated...If you're hungry and don't want to pay waterfront prices, then I guess this place is acceptable. Even though the menu is translated into no less than 10 languages, no one working there speaks anything but Portuguese. And, if YOU don't speak Portuguese, don't come with any expectations. Pros: Food has good taste and is plentiful in... More

If you are in a rush, need food somewhere near the port, don't want to pay the waterfront prices or want the view - then I suppose this is acceptable. The food was passable, but not memorable - bifinhos con cogumelos (steak w mushrooms), batter fried octopus - everything served with rice, fries and some shredded carrot (see photos). Very... More

We decided to skip the tourist options and to climb only few meters from Ribeira. The portions were humongous the food really tasty and the whole atmosphere typically Portuguese. A family with 2 kids was sitting next to us and 2 elders were eating two tables away. Really cosy and honest. Definitely a 'once again' choice...

The place was crowded. The prices are low. The food was good. The portions are big. Nice and quick service. We had soups, fried pork and a seabass, 3 beers...we paid 26 eur.

Yes, the place is simple - but you are not charmed by sorcerer, you see what you get. (It is a reaction for those reviewers that felt cheated by the simplicity of the place). We got a very warm recommendation for this place form our rented apartment hostess - she said we would enjoy it. And it was an absolute... More

Classic local restaurant, full of local people, with very good food and service. Not so many tourists but yet in the city center.

If you are looking for mediocre food, the "messy plate" style, then it's a perfect place. I don't understand the positive reviews here. Service is poor (nobody speaks English), food is cheap and environment is caotic. A classic touristic place.
