After the whole day sightseeing we wanted to enjoy a fresh fish at Cais da Ribeira with the nice view to the river. The choise was here. Horrible coated, dry, frozen and warmed up cod fish was a nightmare. Not more tasty were grilled, dried sardines.

Went with a group of 14 people for work party. The worst restaurant I ever went to, so embarrassing, benign Portuguese myself I recommended different dish which were so awful that most of the food was not touched. I hope someone from the council reads this, the city was really nice but places like this will not help the tourism.... More

We had a really negative experience at this restaurant. We kindly asked to sit down inside (it was a cool day and it was going to rain) but they said we couldn't. That was fine, we accepted to sit down outside. Later, a group of people arrived and they were allowed to sit inside. Why? We stayed outside and it... More

Awful experience at this place. Food was so bad none of us could finish what they ordered, waiter charged us for a dish we didn't order and then blamed it on us. Wouldn't go back.

Food is delicious and they serve quite a lot. Don't hesitate to enter this restaurant if you see nobody inside. Also has a espectacular view of the bridge and Caia. I recommended!

This place was to us nothing more than a tourist trap. We found a place on the terrace outside, and got the menu’s. Before we knew the waiter placed bread on our table (very common, I know) but very sneaky he placed two smaller plate’s with codfish-cookies and different kinds of cheese, butter and pate’s behind the basket of bread.... A lovely location by the river and among other restaurants but let down by the pushy waiters and poor quality food. Starters were delivered to our table that we neither asked for nor wanted and were reluctantly removed. Something we noticed others diners had trouble with too. The waiter took our food order then immediately walked away to take other... More

You don't necessarily go to this part of town for gourmet food. It is busy, touristy, but with a magnificent aspect over the Douro to the port bodegas over the river. The food is good, the service friendly and relaxed. Allow 90 minutes for lunch. Stick to salads and fish.

VERY disappointed with both our meals a classic Prego( bitoque, steak with egg) that was hard like rubber super dry even asking for it mal passado. French fries soggy even asking for them bem passadas and crispy. Ketchup tasted wrong, maybe the expiration date had been rubbed off of the bottle? Rice tasted like sand paper and bland. My husband... More
