I remember dining next to Michel Rolland at Spondi a few years ago (and the sommelier was awful back then). Things have changed but still food is consistent but definitely not "Greek". Worth a visit if you're looking for high quality western cuisine in Athens.

Service excellent, wine list very good, food was delicious although I missed the wonderful soups I have had here n the past. This was a prix fixed dinner, and each course was lovely, but not quite as exceptional as in the past.

I had a lovely dinner with my wife at Spondi. Best way to approach dinner there is to give yourself in to the wonderful staff and the Sommelier. Emilios was so wonderful and kept us informed and cared for throughout Dinner. Wonderful Bertrand was the Sommelier tonight, and as he appeared competent, early on I entrusted wine pairing to him... We dinned there in Febr2017 with a set menu (Dine Athens Week). Pros: Tastes were great and different. Service was excellent and they were firendly, informing you about the dishes. The place is great, very nice and well decorated. Cons: Very small portions (gourmet "covered") and prices not normal and tooooo expensive for what you get. Quality is perfect, but... More

We came here after reading such good reviews on trip advisor and in guide books. We were not disappointed and felt Spondi was well worthy of such reputation and of its two Michelin stars. Enjoyed every bite from the first canapés to the petit fours. Wine choice was good and much more sensibly priced than other two star restaurants I... More

We were booked in at 8 but our flight was delayed so we arrived about 20 minutes late (we did let them know) but it was not an issue. Being Valentines it was very busy but the service and food were excellent. Much more the traditional Michelin experience (we could have been in Paris) The Greek wine we had was... More

We had a New Year's Eve dinner with a group of 10 friends. The set menu was delicious, the wine pairing and the service was perfect. We enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for the wonderful cake at the end of the dinner.

This is one of the best restaurants in town and I am probably doing it a disservice by writing about it today. We went to try it out because during "Food Week" it was offering a set menu for 69e per person without wine. The courses were numerous but none larger than a couple of bites, but I suppose this... Staying in Pangrati

Neighbourhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
