Went here twice, late in the evening in early spring. Pleased to notice the Greeks were the vast majority of customers. The place is authentic. The food and drink we had was fine. Not exceptional, but good enough. The real attraction is the music and dancing. Can certainly recommend this place, just don't know if it remains good in the... More

We followed the hotel receptionist recommendation which was a great one. The tavern provides excellent food together with live music.

Traditional location with good live music. Too dark to eat and to ser ehat you're eating. Nothing special in general. Souvlaki expensive (16euros) and poor (5 lamb small rondels) with no dip or pita bread. Generally expensive for a taverna.

Nice traditional restaurant. Good music and relaxed atmosphere. The food was good, I recommend stuffed wine leaves as starter, deliscious!

Great food and great singers. Had 3 hours there with my father. The service was very good and the singers gave us a good repertoire of kasandigis. Had a lot of fun.

This restaurant in plaka is of course a restaurant mainly for tourists, but it is excellent! The service is not slow: they cook last minute, which for me is clearly sign of quality! If you get your meat after 10minutes, ask yourself when that was cooked... Lamb is delicious, chicken souvlaki was amazing. We loved it! My husband is greek... More

This is a nice tavert with above average cooking (don't miss the lamb in the oven), comfortable pricing and live performance of greek classics. This is not a tourist trap like some other in thde Flaka area, you'll not be ripped off, good value if you stay around.

If you want to visit an authentic Greek taverna in Plaka, you should go here. Above all, you go here for the fine musical entertainment who has high class, where two musicians play classical Greek "earrings" with very fine singing and the play guitar and bouzouki very good. This area in Athens is authentic, cozy and the straff is very... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
