It was Saturday night in Plaka and everything was full. We were sold on this restaurant by a man chasing down tourists. It has a great atmosphere and nice servers. After enjoying great restaurants throughout Greece the food wasn't in the top echelon, but all in all, for the price, it was a nice Saturday night experience.

Had a very nice dinner here, staff were very friendly and the food well cooked. Menu had lots of options both traditional Greek food and other choices as well. Prices were very reasonable and they offer us our first drink on the house as a welcome which was a very nice touch. Would definitely recommend and would certainly go back.

We went 3 times during our week visit to Athens. Once we had drinks only and there was no pressure to eat. The fried calamari was as tender as you could expect at any restaurant.

As touristic as it can be, this is a classic place for me to visit when in Athens. Doing a bit of people watching, enjoying their cooked dishes, sipping some ouzo. I had sardeles in oregano sauce, lamb lemonato, mousakas, imam baildi. All good, at the correct price.

We stumbled upon this place on our first morning. We ordered the daily special an egg-bake with sausage, feta and another kind of cheese. So yummy! We returned for lunch the next day and had lemon lamb and tomato and eggplant lamb. Out of this world! Friendly owner.

These guys are the best! They remembered me after one visit, and then today I was a bit lost but came around the corner and there were my guys! Opening the door and offering my usual cappuccino and baklava! Super friendly, hard-working, and a great value for the euro.

The grilled octopus was recommended by our excellent waiter and it was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Greek pastisio and it was yummy! We loved it so much that we went back for dinner later that week.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
