This review is based on a winter time visit for dinner (weekday). I had not visited before in winter, only once in summer for drinks and light dinner and had found it very nice, with good food and a large wine selection. Hence we booked a table for three in mid February... The restaurant interior is tiny, just a few... More

They say that good service can make up for poor food quality, however good food can't remedy bad service. I guess this is the case for this place. The food is quite descent and well presented (although word of advice...when the menu says pizza with cherry tomatoes, I would have thought that this means more than three teeny-tiny ones, wouldn't... A friend had book a table (meaning stools) for two we ended up being three the place was crowed and after a while we asked if it was possible to get another stool the manager is by far the most rude person. He is even rude at the phone when you are trying to book a table. He simply replied... More

I could say that this is more as a bar-bistro than a regular restaurant.the food is really very good the wine list very updated.the big problem is the limited space.

Small and cool corner restaurant with nice finger food pizza and cocktails. Very nice for a quick dinner with a friend. Minus is that it gets packed very often as it is very small

Beware when you try to book a table. They will say ok and then call you (about two hours before your booking time), to let you know they "have reserved for you 4 stools at the bench". They are sorry of course, but if you have arranged a business meeting, you find yourself in a very awkward situation. Food is... More

Not a taverna - but all the trimmings - cramped but open planned - food is good - wines are plenty - service is quick and very friendly . Open to street and a bit tight searing inside - but a great place to catch up and watch parts of the world go by . Not cheap not expensive.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
