Good food, great service! Our manager and waitress went above and beyond to ensure our party was comfortable. Recommend the halloumi cheese as an appetizer and large meat griller as an entree (feeds 2). Our cocktails were average which is why I didn't rate them a 4 out of 5. However, I still highly recommend Sin Athina!

We spent a week in Athens in November. This was the only restaurant in Athens where we ate twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. We came back for our last night's dinner. We don't like smoking so George, our host, made sure we were away from the smoke. He also helped to find the freshest fish. We don't... More

This place is really a good place to eat: The location is good and the view is beautiful. The portions are big and more than enough. The prices are so good. The taste is very good. The only bad thing is the smoking people inside the restaurant which is mot good at all!

Sin Athina is easy to find in the center of Thisseio. It has a downstairs coffee bar and every Saturday night the upstairs bar holds an 80's party. It has a fun, friendly atmosphere and the drinks are very reasonably priced.

The owner Yanes served us himself was very attentive suggested great options for menu and wine! He also offered complimentary home made ice cream with the baklava which was simply from the Gods!!!!

We were greeted graciously, even though they were very busy. I had the Sin Burger and it was awesome! A massive, flavorful burger topped with a perfectly fried over medium egg. Nicely done!! My wife had a Greek salad and the olives were an excellent touch. She said the feta cheese was a really nice hybrid of creamy and crumbly!... More

Walking by and here it was, a warm lounge, bar & restaurant. Helpful lot and couldn't give me a signature cocktail as they had so many. Well, I settled for the Black Russian & sangria. French fries with Parmesan was a simple starter. Very warm, hospitality & friendly young staff. All our to serve and make you comfortable. I guess... More

We had just come into town after climbing down Mt Olympus that morning and driving into Athens that night. We were walking along from our AirBnB and we were hungry. This place was quiet, had friendly looking people and we noticed it had a roof top bar. We were seated with the most incredible view of the Acropolis. The mood... More

This place is a typical tourist trap on the Main Street. The service was FANTASTIC but the food was just average. Bottled thousand island salad dressing on the salad. After the amazing culinary experience we had in Athens, I wish we wouldn't have trusted the reviews on trip advisor and gone somewhere else.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
