Dirty Ginger is very near the "Keramikos" metro station meters away from the the Gazi piaza as you exit the metro station on your right side at Triptolemou street 46. This place was made up very simply by covering the open gap between 2 old buildings with a moveable opening "ceiling". The owners kept in its place a huge palm... More

The food was seriously awful - the meat was more fat than actual meat. The cocktails (10€!) were tasteless and absolutely not worth their money.

For all these positive reviews I was not impressed. The environment was only OK. Nice, a palm tree in the middle of the room but I have seen that before. I had the chicken pita it was eatable but the chicken had no taste to it. The french fries and home made potato chips were saturated with grease which ruined... More

This was a great find in the trendy Gazi area. It seemed like there was mainly locals there apart from us. The open roofed setting and decor provided a chilled yet stylish atmosphere. The service was incredibly attentive and the food was fantastic. We started with tyropites (best I've had in Greece!) and for mains had the shared grilled meat... More

I used to live in Athens and was at 'Dirty Ginger' every week! I recently went back while visiting and I decided it deserved a review!! It is at a great location right by the tube in the heart of Keramikos. Both bar and restaurant are in a beutifully decorated open garden (with a ceiling and covered windows for the... More

Nice, modern restaurant with Greek contemporary cusine, in a nice courtyard with a huge palm tree in the middle!! The service is excellent, the food delicious and nicely presented, the music a bit loud but this is a bar-restaurant, thus you cannot be surprised by the music that plays in high volume... Vicky is a great hostess that really made... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
