Small taverna in Plaka surrounded by other tavernas but what makes this one stand out is the fact it's full of Greek families as well as tourists and it's been serving good and authentic Greek fare since 1898. Well worth a visit!

This restaurant is located in the Plaka area, which is beautiful but very touristic. The prices at most places are higher than in the rest of the Athens, even if the quality and taste of the food is lower. We had decent lunch, but it wasn't anything special. Will try another place next time. Service was very friendly.

We visited this restaurant several times. It is bellow Acropolis " Parthenon " During the summer you can sit outside and enjoy the view of Acropolis and the Plaka which is the old town of Athens. The food is great and the prices are logical.

Really good service and value for money. The octopus salad was tasty as was the Kamari's. There was no Retsina from the barrel, but the bottled Retsina was walked excellent. It would seem Retsina from a barrel n central Athens is a rarity these days. A pity.

Got here for a late lunch, after a tour to the Acropolis: our guide recommended this cozy restaurant with view over the city (some indoor tables do not have view though). We ordered some appetizers and two salads, one Greek with delicious feta cheese and the other with marinated seafood ... yummy! We also ordered some nice white wine. Do... More

Definitely the best fish in down town Athens and one of the best in Greece. The restaurant is located in one of the best spots in Plaka. They have big selection in the menu and everything is very good, tasty with excellent quality. 5 stars service, polite, knowledgeable and experienced staff. If you are in Athens you must visit this... More

A typical Greek cuisine restaurant in the best place of the old town Plaka. Recommend to reserve a table either in the balcony or in the outer stair way. The food quality is excellent , the service very good and the elides decent. It is recommended during the summer period when you can enjoy the outdoor sitting.

A great place to enjoy traditional Greek food and atmosphere. Located Northeast below the Acropolis along the pedestrian walkway and steps. Had the best Greek lentil soup ever. The large serving of Moussaka was quite tasty as well.

Me and my boyfriend had a lunch there on the last day of our trip. A. It hidden from the main Plaka streets was not that full of tourists. Nice interiors with a fire place. They did not have some dishes I wanted to try which surprised me considering I chose from "traditional greek" sections - you should always have... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
