The decor is charming and the restaurant is in a lovely area of town that is not touristy at all. We shared two starters and two mains. The portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious. It's obviously a popular place; we visited in the off season and they were able to fit us in on a Friday night... More

Very nice and happy atmosphere, old style, everything is very fresh, non industrial, very very tasty. Local dishes. Great place for lunch / dinner in Kolonaki. Reasonable price.

Visited for lunch. Had sea bass baked with lemon and olive oil. The best sea bass I ever had. Got a great lemon mousse for dessert. Price was reasonable. Great choice for the area.

Classy Greek cuisine upmarket but affordable. Didn't eat here, but had coffee and chocolate cake outside. Nice environment, extra service with classic music. Have thought about all details, even brown sugar. Will revisit for dinner

We could t find anything else in the area that wasn't either souvlaki or pizza, wanted a real meal. The food was tasty but overpriced and small servings. But the service was truly bizarre. Unfriendly and seemingly resentful staff who pulled our plates away before they were finished. The only time in Greece I have felt unwelcome! And a cover... More

I have had lunch on the weekend here twice now, once with my partner and once with friends. A big plus is that the whole restaurant (upstairs and down) is non smoking! Smoking tables are outside, street side. There is a very good selection on the menu which is available in English. Different meats, starters, vegetarian, fish, soups, salad, something... More

We went for a late lunch at Oikeio during my visit to Athens for the new year. This is a small, cosy restaurant with traditional food. It's xmas decor was gorgeous. From the four dishes we had, all really enjoyed them, apart from me who found it average. The downside is that it is very popular so you need to... More

This is a pleasant restaurant although because of it limited size the tables are rather closely stacked while the upstairs room feels rather claustrophobic because of the low ceiling. However, the food compensates adequately and the wine cellar is varied.

Food was great, decoration and atmosphere were pleasant and the staff was courteous and friendly. The only negative thing was the somewhat unimaginative menu.

I was pleasantly surprised by this venue. Unlike other places at Kolonaki, this is a quiet and artistically styled boutique restaurant with food that tastes homemade and service that feels at home. Cuisine is Greek but with a twist e.g. Yiouvarlakia in a thick lemon sauce, and the deserts are to die for. The cheesecake is highly recommended. I am... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighbourhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighbourhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
