I went to Ta Chalkina twice while I was staying in Chania (once with my partner and once with my friend) and had a lovely time both visits. Amazing (and really well priced) food, house white wine was really good and also very cheap. There was also live music both nights we went which made for such a great atmosphere.... More

My wife and I spent an evening at restaurant Tá Chalkina last Night, and what a party that was! We had the Best of greek/Cretan fod with specialities of Crete, and afterwards we listened to the Best greek Music from two young boys, playing bouzouki and lira, a little string-instrument special for Crete. More and more Young People's of Chania... More

Locates almost opposite the old venetian lighthouse. The owner (Demetris) is very polite and professional. The food is fantastic, tasty and fresh. There, you can enjoy an authentic Crete cuisine. Highly recommend it.

This little place on the harbour has a great traditional atmosphere and the food is delicious and what topped it all was the music so definitely go when they have live music.

It is seated in an excellent place and it is suggested for nightlife entertainment. A group played traditional music while we were eating traditional dishes; specifically "Potatos oftes", meatballs of chania, "mizithra" & "small goat with stamnagathi". And of course we drunk "tsikoudia". It was about traditional tastes of excellent quality and pretty reasonable price since all these cost about... More

Great location, as it is situated besides the sea, looking at the old harbor. Good variety of Cretan dishes, whatever we tasted was tasty. Very good prices and nice and quick service. Highly recommended.
