Had lunch here during our stay at the resort. Fantastic service and great food. Ordered too much as the salads were more than enough for two. Location is fantastic and very friendly staff.

We ate here as a four for a Cretean themed night with a live band. We had a splendid time. Good food, attentive staff and great entertainment. Well recommended. It's not fine dining but it is quite pricey, in keeping with the resort.

The star here was the view of course as well as the Greek salad. Main courses were mediocre. Service was good. An overall good experience. Signs to the restaurant should be better sight.

This is the Greek restaurant of the Blue Palace Hotel. Having eaten in a few Greek restaurants on this visit to Crete, I would say this was the best. They show you the fish (one big enough for two folks usually) and then grill it...More

Authentic dishes hard to beat with any of the other tavernas near by, their Cretan Night with dancers and local customs was outstanding and not to be missed.

View is spectacular just on beach in front of blue palace hotel. There are traditional mixes like humus tzaziki etc which are just really really good, and their meals for kids and adults were great - we went for lunch but I suspect dinners are...More

Such a lovely setting for a taverna - on the rocks slightly elevated from the sea. Beautiful if slightly eerie view of Spinalonga lit up at night. Absolutely lovely service from start to finish. We had some elements from the appetiser tray - tsatziki, favs...More

Incorporating the resort's signature color, the Blue Door is a typical Greek Taverna with a spectacular beach-front location. As part of its mission to remain true to island roots, the Blue Palace Resort & Spa has transformed an old fisherman's stone house into the renowned Blue Door Taverna. The top-quality, traditional Greek cuisine features a daily catch from the local fishermen, cooked over the open grill accompanied by Greek Meze. The Story behind Blue Blue is the color of Greece, the color of our flag, the color of the Aegean, the color of all the Greek islands.. In the old days when most of the men from the islands went to make a living from the sea, their women would wait anxiously for their return. To ward off the evil spirits, they would paint the doors of their homes blue, as they believed that this color would protect them from the evil eye and bring their husbands back safely to them. Cretan Feast Guests will have the opportunity to discover a unique ritual, the Cretan Feast: large bonfires will be lit at our private beach for the slow cooking of the famous “antikristo” lamb. Authentic local delicacies will be prepared on the spot; all under the distinct tunes of Cretan lyra. Guest will enjoy this unique cultural and gastronomical experience, while rejoicing in a landscape of breathtaking beauty by the sea and enjoying the unmatched facilities and unparalleled service of Blue Palace.
