We went to Skt Gertrud for later Sunday lunch. Food was really amazing. The only small complaint would be lack of observation from the side of the service. We were traveling with a small kid and normally it is in the best interest of all...More

A very typical Danish-French café both interior and food wise. I had a salad with warm goat cheese. While I found the cheese very tasty, the apple/salad ratio did not really appeal to me (too much apple and too much bitter salad). Bread was good....More

Have been now many times there. Had a brunch that was excellent, for not too expensive of a cost. Went there for tea and coffee with some muffin (homemade and huge, so huge that it is placed lying on the plate). Delicious, thank you.

Nicely located on one of the squares in the pedestrian area, Cafe Skt. Gertrud offers a good variety of dishes, many of them inspired by French cuisine (the deco of the interior is taking from the same origins). Very good dinner experience indeed, perfect if...More

We choose this place because of the main course "linguine mushroom, chicken, estragon sauce, scarlott onion. The chicken had no taste and was not chrispy. No flavour in the sauce. Dissapointed. It should be easy to make this dish much better in taste.

Café Skt Gertrud is named after Saint Gertrud, Saint Gertrud lived between 625-659 at a convent in Nivelles, she was known for her compasion and sympathy for the poor, sick and travelling. In Odense in the middle of the 1400 a small chapel by "Fisketorvet" was built in honour of Saint Gertrud, the Chapel has long since been demolished, however the street where Café Skt Gertrud lies is named after the patron saint. Café Skt. Gertrud opened its doors for the first time in 1986. "Lets meet at Gertrud's" is a saying that is often heard often amongst the locals, from the early hours of the morning and until the late hours at night. In this lively atmosphere, you can enjoy beverages both hot and cold, which can be accompanied by brunch or lunch dishes from our Cafe menu, from an Organic Cappuccino together with freshly baked croissant, or a chilled glass of Chenin Blanc with a salade Niçoise. In the evening you can enjoy a selection from our à la carte menu or our menu of the month. Our Kitchen brigade strive to use local produce wherever possible and our service staff are here to assist you and give you advice with regards to your choice of wine to compliment your meal, or even a Marc de Bourgogne together with an espresso. The atmosphere in our Café is vibrant, yet at the same time relaxed and good fun. On Friday's and Saturday's we have two resident DJ's that play old school soul and disco to more or less a packed house, here you can enjoy one of our trademark G & T's or a Dark n Stormy until the early hours of the morning.
