Just came across this restaurant by chance while wandering around the Christmas stalls in Nyhavn. Although it was quite full, they found me a table and I was soon served and enjoying the Christmas beer. The meal was very good and I had the 'surprise' rice pudding for dessert which was excellent although very rich. It has flaked almonds in... More

We wanted to eat near the hotel and found this place, which had slightly lower (but still high) prices compared with other restaurants nearby. We had lunch there one day and dinner another. It has a homey atmosphere, with candles and dark wood, and very good traditional Danish food. We had smorrebrod (open-face sandwiches) a couple of times--three sandwiches is... More

While we only had the Irish coffees, everything looked delicious that we saw. The staff were just about the friendliest people I've ever met, and we went back twice!

Great lunch experience. Sample plate of several fish servings. All appealing to the eye and great tasting. Service easy with English spoken. Seating inside or outside. Bill comes in a variety of currencies so you know the exact amount in US dollars, Euros, English Pounds, and Danish Krone.

We tried 3 smorrebrod dishes, all were very good! Danish meatball best! Not the usual small round meatballs, homemade kind. Serve with cold potato salad Fillet of Plaice with shrimps - shrimp portion is generous. Roast beef - thinly slice comes with fried onion prickles sour cream mayo combination is nice! You need to include the piece of rye bread... More

Dined tonight, a Saturday, expecting that it would be difficult to get a table. The restaurant was busy but not full. I was delighted to hear the special of the day was Danish meatballs so ordered that with the fish roe starter. The starter was just what I wanted and the meatballs were fine but let down by the veggies... More

I know at Nyhavn is the place for tourist trap restaurants like this, but I didn't think it would be so blunt. The roasted almonds were really sour and expensive. The truffles were jokingly small portioned. Beer in milk glasses and everything really bland. Plus for heating lamps and polite waitress. We guessed which place this restaurant would rank on... On a business trip I called in for an evening meal here, it having been recommended by my daughter. A good call. A wonderful selection of herringwith breads, and a good dark bottled beer. A real good eatery in a fairly touristic location.

What can be better than having a great Herring Lunch in Nyhavns Færgekro after a walk through Copenhagen, with the smell of flowers in your nose, the sound of The Royal Life Guards Parade in your ears and the sun in your eyes? Wonderful....but why do the beer and snaps have to be so expensive
