First night in Copenhagen staying in this district. Last minute need for food with 2 younger children, and this venue was ideal. Small but friendly, good pizzas that hit the spot.

We came in off the street, after 9 pm, and got a great Italian meal in this warm and cozy restaurant. The menu is enormous, rarely a good sign, but both the grilled salmon and the pizza we were being served, were well prepared, tasty and served with a smile.

The food is definitely not Italian. When we got our orders, the sea food was far from fresh, vegetables quite sparse, pasta, raviolis and meat were overcooked marred in oil. Absolutely tasteless. I suspect that the meat was the week's leftovers from other customers. In short it was a nightmare. Even the wine - a Montepulciano the most expensive one... More

We went for a meal at Mama Ludbas on a Saturday evening. It was one of the few places in Vesterbro which had any spare tables! The staff were friendly. The decor was quite old fashioned but that made it feel cosy and a bit different to other restaurants in Copenhagen. The menu was very traditional Italian and there was... More

The food wasn't terrible but it was bland. The service was okay, but a bit confused. As the place was less than half full, that was a disappointment. We had a "deal", so we only paid half price for the food. The full price would have been to much. The decor and styling of the restaurant was very old-fashioned Italian... More

A very delightful restaurant, in an interesting little street, offering fairly classic Italian fare. Be warned, it caters for hungry people, portions are large! Pleasant service, good food, relaxing environment.

In Copenhagen for three nights and chose to have dinner here two of the nights. Enormous portions that we ended up sharing the second time. Nice tablecloths and service.

The atmosphere probably is good, just we were unlucky to meet a grumpy waiter by the door. Pleasant place, very tasty pizza.

based on the other reviews, the pizza does not get high marks. would we return here for the pizza, probably not, but it wasn't that bad. not your typical American style pizza, but let's face it, we're in Copenhagen, not Chicago. so don't come here expecting to get Chicago style pizza (even if that's what is advertised). it was tasty... Their selection of dishes are satisfying,I will only say that they lack something in their selection of red wines in half bottles and not just house wine. >YES THE FOOD: Their starter was of a good quality and the taste was really good ... But the main course here it seemed as as if some of it was fully cooked... More

Welcome. That is the essence of Mama's Restaurant Ludba whose surroundings are cozy and very Italian inspired. The restaurant is located in one of the nicest streets in Copenhagen, Værnedamsvej linking Frederiksberg and Vesterbro. Værnedamsvej is in itself worth a sightseeing trip. So why not start or end a pleasant day in the city to get a good and pleasant dining experience at a very reasonable price.

Staying in Frederiksberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
