Close to city centre, many eating options and right next to metro option. Value for money and vibrant part of town.

The hotel is very conveniently located right by the metro station (Medborgarplatsen). Located on Södermalm which is quite "happenings" with food and drink choices. The room was a bit cramped but given that we only spent the night there, not too big of an issue. Scandic breakfasts are, in a nutshell, yummy. Scandinavian style with fresh produce. The bar in... Food was great and the service was friendly. Only two things that weren't up to par. One the bar next to the restaurant played music way too loud to eat comfortably and secondly the waiter got out kids orders confused and brought them adult portions, with full price I might add.

The place is a bar and a restaurant side by side... which makes the whole place quite noisy. If you are on a business trip and just looking for a quick byte, this place might fit. Service is ok, food ok but not sure it is worth the money... You can surely find better place to eat close to the... More

Hi Nice hotel. Room towards basic but clean and pleasant. In a good area. Staff pleasant enough and good breakfast. But the noise from the bar in my firdt floor room was ridicolous. Higher floors might be ok but I wouldnt stay on this floor again.

The rooms needs a makeover, I tried to open a window it is was of the type that you can open fully or tilt open at the top depending on where you put the handle. It's so old that it opens in both ways at the same time and it's not possible to lock. Location vice is on might be... More

Considering it is located in the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised at how packed the restaurant got. It had a fun atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food.

Went there to watch some of my freinds play. But was stopped in the door. My pants were the problem! Thing is they are a design item and even if they weren't I don't think that was his problem since people inside wore adidas and other sweat pants! I think the problem was the Guards heteronormative wievs and that me... More

Waited 40 min for food, really low quality waiters with no idea of what was on the menu. They had to go to chef and ask on every question. I'm a frequent guest (top floor) at Scandic but this is no good

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
