I stayed at the hotel and had one dinner in the restaurant. Very peaceful and lovely view of the city from the restaurant. The server was so nice and I had a delicious fish soup.

When staying at the Malardrottningen Yacht Hotel, we decided to try out the restaurant as well. It was a very wise decision; the food and atmosphere were great.

We was there for dinner. This also because we are staying in the Malardrottningen Hotel (which is NOT a part of this Restaurant rating!) The service was friendly and good - nothing to review. The wine was pretty well. The problem is the kitchen. We was ordering Ribeye Steaks with potatoes gratin. The Gratin looks like precooked long before and... More

The atmosphere and the food are both wonderful here. A table with a view of the water is a perfect romantic opportunity. The tables without a view are very nice as well. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of starters and main courses. We didn't make it to dessert but I'm sure it was... More

Part of the reason for staying at this hotel was the location of the boat with regards to place in town and sunset view. I enjoyed that view very much at the restaurant. Service was excellent and food was good but it was a bit lonely to sit there all by myself in an otherwize empty restaurant. Hopefully it is... More

The boat is well situated at the foot of the old town and is a very well restored old mini cruiser with a great story with it you can read in board. The cabin i had was well appointed fora ship's cabin and i found it quite comfortable but still with a hint of boat which aired me fine. Breakfast... More

Beautiful view of City Hall and Stockholm, with a lovely setting; formal dining without having to dress up. Great meal!

Food was delicious and the waitress was lovely. We went down early to have a few drinks and she reserved us a lovely window table, which we were very grateful about. I would have preferred more of a varied choice on the menu, but both my partner and I enjoyed what we had to eat. We would come back and... More

The Julbord was an ordinary Julbord, no extravaganza. The staff was very nice. Not to much queue, that we like. One irritating thing, the food was removed to fast from the Julbord. The boat has a old history but time has taken out it's time. It has been here since 1982 and that is visible. But the Location is the... More

Description
Moored off the island of Riddarholmen in the historic heart of Stockholm lies the hotel and restaurant Mälardrottningen. The boat dates from as far back as 1924 and has been visited down the years by statesmen, royalty and movie stars. A visit is well recommended to savour first class food and a fantastic view over the waters of central Stockholm, the city hall and old town. Choose between dishes such as: poached fillet of local pike perch with smoked eel and mussel; crispy roast breast of duck with roast root vegetables and potato baked in puff pastry. During the summer months, you can sit on the afterdeck with a glass of wine or try some of the dishes from the excellent buffet.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
