Had a lovely Friday night dinner here. Staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere lively. Food was very good, but portions maybe a bit big! Recommended (make a booking!).

Nice place with very fine italian fish-based food. Maybe a bit expensive (2 starters+2 main dishes+2 glass wine 1050 SEK)

Their sea food pasta is out of this world and maybe i'm a little boring because I pick it almost everytime I visit this gem. But don't be afraid to pick something else everyone else also got extremly satisfied with their choices. Please book in advance since it's always full. You can always try to call the same day but... This was an OK restaurant. We ended up here because it was raining and it looked like a decent seafood restaurant. The fish soup was just OK as were the scampi. Wouldn't bother going back

The Old Man and the Sea, what a beautiful name! I had dinner there twice and both with the same dish, pasta with scallops. Such a delight! Food and wine is good. The place is nice though it might get quite warm in the corner, especially with all the candles. One downside is I get full with primo so have... More

Great food, great service and great ambience. It is hard to explain the names of the menu items we ate - but in short it was chicken and pasta, veal with ham, a side salad and mashed potatoes with Parmesan cheese. The flavours were most unusual and wonderful. Our meals were prepared by someone who knows and loves food. The... More

I had booked a table for nine of my closest friends and none of us had been to this restaurant before although we have been to many restaurants in Stockholm. Overall it was a fantastic experience. Truly exceptional Italian food served to perfection. Between the 10 of us we sampled most of the menu and all were very very satisfied... More

Best meal we had in Stockholm! Professional yet warm service and every thing we ordered from the appetizers to the main courses and sides were fantastic. My only regret is that we were too full for dessert.

The "old man and the sea" as is the name of the restaurant is a bit outside the usual tourist quarters but not far away (with the closest site of interest being the City Library). It is well worth a detour as it is certainly one of the best Italians in town. I had stuffed baby squid as a started... More

I had been traveling for two weeks through three countries by the time I ate here, and it was still easily the best meal I had had the entire time. The food here is WONDERFUL. I had the Spaghetti al Guanciale e panna, and it was just fabulous. Even though I was full half-way through (we had had a bunch... More

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
