You will not starve at breakfast. There are so many quality choices from fruits, breads and grains, and meats. You can enjoy a hot or cold breakfast. We discovered that the breakfast was so filling, we would skip lunch. This is included in the price and it is not to be missed.

Stayed at the hotel and one night I decided to try them for dinner. The breakfast buffet in the morning is fantastic. For dinner they have a mixture of permanent dishes and seasonal choices. I tried the entrecôte with asparagus and fries. The fries very fantastic, but the entrecôte was over cooked (had asked for medium rate). The wine selection... More

This is a nice and relaxing hotel bar. The music is quite low so you are able to speak to your friends, which I find is a rare thing these days. Good service and a nice beverage selection. There was also an inner bar when you passed the front office that seamed to be more of a dance floor with... More

Went to the bar with colleagues on work trip and stopped at the bar (some colleagues were staying there) before we went out to a restaurant. Unfortunately, had my handbag and computer bag stolen. I had out them on the bench seating against the wall next to me...regrettably not had them touching my body as informally would. The clientele looked... More

I was enjoying a delicious veggie dish served by a friendly waitress at this world famous hotel, which is located in the old town of Stockholm. Hotel and it's gourmet restaurant has a beautiful view to the harbour, which is called Skeppsbron. My visit was in February, so I am looking forward to come back and enjoy a veggie meal... More

This is the first time in my life when I could not have even a small bite of seafood any more. The price was not low, but worth every cent.

Very expensive, but it was a nice surprise in a terrible hotel. Classy table cover, very good risotto, average vine, but we're still in Scandinavia, where food seems to be an optional. Anyway in theiddle of small, caracteristic Gamla restaurants servein salmon or meatballs with popato puree, in was a good experience.

After attending a concert and drinks at the Swedish Koncerthuset we were looking to eat at 10:30pm. Not the time most restaurants are open we found. We were able to get a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and a hamburger served open face on bun with creamed cold slaw and spicy potato wedges. The menu is very limited and the... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
