I was visiting Bakfickan Djuret with some colleagues and I truly enjoyed the food and the accompanying wine menu. We veal tartare, steamed cod, chicken breasts and pork fillet - everything tasted fabulous. The service was friendly and serviceminded - the interior is wonderful. It is a great place to enjoy good food.

I really liked the concept of this restaurant - 2 tasting menus based on a specific meat. The restaurant runs the menu for about a month. There is also a choice of wine pairings one more premium than the other. We spent a great evening here. Our table was in a great position. Service was smooth. Wine pairings were brilliant... More

You get the choice from two different menus and two differet "wine packages". I like that. You then get a number of courses with an unprecidented taste. Staff is professiional and frriendly. They explain every detail of the meal. Priciing is quite steep (approx sek 6500 for the menu and sek 5500 fo the wine). However, I believe it is... More

Went here on the off chance they would have space. (Fully booked online) The staff where very helpful and found us space at the bar to eat. We chose the four course menu which was amazing. Each course came with an explanation from the staff who had a great sense of humour. The animal of the month was cow, so... More

Delicious counter-programming. Meat paradise. The deal is: multiple creative courses from a single animal, with well-matched wines in a comfortable atmosphere and casual but excellent service. We left satisfied on all counts.

Nothing bad to say at all. One of the best meals I've ever had. Cosy atmosphere and great service. In our party was both a vegitarian aswell as a pregnant woman. They saw to all our needs in a more than satisfactory way. Will come back as soon as I can.

We came here for dinner in February 2017 and went for the 4 course option with matching wines. The idea for the food is that the restaurant selects one animal, and makes all of the savoury courses using different cuts of the animal. For our meal, this was Wild Boar. All of the food was excellent, in particular the sausage... More

Had a dinner for a large party (20 people) in December. The service was phenomenal, and the food was outstanding. The menu was based on a single animal, but as a vegetarian i have to say that everything I had was amazing. The dishes were quite similar to the meat dishes, but of course, without the meat. The rest of... More

We loved this restaurant. We came for just a starter and a drink but ended up staying for a full three course meal enjoying some traditional Swedish Cuisine. The service we received was also fantastic incredibly patient with our lack of knowledge and we got some humour too!

Description
Djuret is Leijontornets bistro. At Djuret we serve one animal at the time. We concider this to be the most sustainable way to work with the slaughtered animal both from an organic perspective but also out of respect to the animal in question. The whole menu consists of different meat paragraphs from the same animal. These are prepared with a lot of love on the grill, halster or in a pot and then served in a rustik way.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
