Fairly disappointing experience: We wanted to enjoy the sunset while having an unpretentious dinner and felt that Loch & Quay was the more laid back option than the neighboring restaurant. Well, the sun set down as scheduled. But that was pretty much the only positive thing to mention. We both ordered sirloin steak and what we found on our plates... More

Who cares that the menu is a bit basic...the food is ok but the views are second to none! Friendly staff and the mojito's are awesome!

arrived one afternoon of the Stockholm marathon. There were 10 men dressed in kilts! Only one of them was Scots! The rest just enjoyed wearing kilts. Food and drink reasonably priced by Swedish standards. Great views but probably a bit cold later in the season!

This place has expanded since we were here last year. The location is what sets this place apart from other bars..the view over Slussen and outwards towards the islands is wonderful. We like to people watch and this is the ideal place to do it when the weather is nice. The expansion has taken away some of the cosiness but... More

We were walking around sightseeing and started to get hungry when we came upon this restaurant. They had a lunch special that seemed reasonable given the fact that food was so expensive everywhere. They make a really good hamburger, and the view is very nice as well.

A great outdoor Scottish bar for the summer. A good selection of Scottish beers on tap and bottled. Plenty of whiskey sorts to choose from. A simple but good food menu. Go there on a warm sunny Stockholm summer evening!

We stopped here for an early dinner after walking most of the day. Outdoor dining along the waterfront and great people watching. I had the cheeseburger and it was great. My companion had the prawn salad and enjoyed it as well. The service was outstanding. Maybe it is a tourist trap but I would love for all mr tourist trap... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
