This place was a lot of fun! The hosts are all in period costume and playing a role. When our table was ready, a horn sounded and we were announced as we were escorted to our shared table. We laughed and joked with our tablemates,...More

We had a few guests, and we wanna show them a real sense of sweden, and we Couldn't do it better than having dinner in Aifur. Everyone's arrival is announced loudly, ( seems like a viking tradition), and people may sit on the same long...More

We had a great evening here. If Vikings were still around today, this would be the restaurant they would visit - which I suppose is the idea. Big slabs of meat, a dark, candle lit sort of place, very friendly staff. As guests arrive, they...More

My first time visiting Stockholm with my Swedish friends. Atmosphere were totally amazing, waiters were dressed up, food and drinks served in traditional plates/glasses. Every person who walks in is announced by the staff to others and people are 'forced' to talk together as they...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

I don't really know, but you can check in their website. They accept reservations and it's good to make one 'cause the restaurant is usually full.

I didn't see a children's menu, and to be honest with the atmosphere of the bar I am not sure it would be suitable for children, it can get a little rowdy.

Aifur Restaurant & Bar is named after the legendary Viking ship Aifur and the result of 15 years of accumulated knowledge and research about life, food and culture from the years 700-1100, merged with skilled and knowledgeable staff in a great location in ”Gamla stan”, the Old Town of Stockholm. Our kitchen is historical informed and for those who are just thirsty there is a seperate bar area.
