Can't say that I am very impressed with the lunch I had, an avocadosallad with "skagenröra" which totally drained the sallad, so it was more of a skagenröra with some avocado buried beneath

We looked up this place before we went,it was located close to the subway station. When we first arrived,we waited to be arranged seats for two. They gave us a really narrow table to start with, but my husband requested and we settled down at the booth. We ordered a dish of fried pepper steak, fried herrings, daily soup and a... More

This restaurant is very close to the Vassa exhibit and a natural stopping place for lunch. The garden is just lovely. Select a table, then head inside to choose from the buffet or order from the menu. I chose the poached dill salmon which was perfect. I also managed to fit a healthy serving of their homemade apple pie. The... More

Very nice typically sweedish restaurant. Seems to be often full, so need to reserve in advance. Excellent meatballs, a lot of choice in beer and nice sweedish cider.

Great local dishes - tried their meatballs, duck breast, veal steak, fried / pickled herring. Coupled with those is an excellent beer menu to complement. I personally love the meatballs here. Food here is reasonably priced. Their staff are friendly and will sometimes chat you up when they are not too busy. Overall a lovely restaurant.

Second night in town and we wanted to try a traditional Swedish meal. And we didn't want to walk north of Slussen as we had walked all day. Thank you tripadvisor community! The staff was friendly and nice. Enjoyed the house brew as well as the special. I had the elk meatballs, very rich. Wife had a casserole that was... More

We hadn't booked on a Saturday evening but the friendly staff fitted us in. The meal was very good with large portions, and prices not too bad. Just watch out for the specialist local schnapps - it's priced by the 1cl measure!

It was recommended by the staff at the Hilton. I'm always suspicious of hotel recommendations. But this was a delightful surprise. Several interesting local dishes and a very, very good beer list. Convenient, tasty, and affordable.

Staying in Slussen

Neighbourhood Profile
A unique mix of grotesque 1960s concrete urban vision and cosy historical Swedish brick houses, Slussen has become one of Stockholm’s most architecturally edgy and controversial neighborhoods. Plans to rebuild the area have been on the agenda for decades, however, so far no agreement could be reached, which is the reason for the continuing decay of its brutalist substance. Nevertheless, the museums and the main shopping street, Götgatan, attract both locals and tourists with Sweden’s most fashion-forward clothing retailers, hipster coffee shops and restaurants. Once the lights are out, the area turns into a bustling nightlife haven, catering to all preferences, from posh hotel bars to sweaty underground nightclubs. There is no better place to experience the clash between old and new Sweden.
