Had dinner there 3 times during our stay in Uppsala. Been 3 years since we were in Uppsala, however food and service was still excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and cosy. We ordered a whole table full of Meze, every dish was really delicious. We were there with our 2 small toddlers and the owner could not... More

Hodja, located in central Uppsala, offers Turkish food on a high-standard level. Part of the restaurant is in a traditional, oriental cosy style, but unfortunately we got a table in a part where the noise level was close to unbearable (stone floor, brick walls, few textiles)

My friends and I went here for dinner and we all had a wonderful time. We were well-treated by the staff with just the right amount of attention (seen to but not rushed in any way). The food was extremely tasty, and there are several vegetarian options to choose from. I chose three (veggie) meze dishes as my meal. I... More

I heard some good things about this place but had an terrible experience. The food was poor and had bad taste. The staff had a bad temper and no sense of service. The day after something was wrong with my stomach and I guess it was the food from this place...

The first time I visited the cost environment struck me as the thing I would remember, but I had at that point not tasted the food which is equally memorable. Whether you go for a selection of their meze or the house burger you are in for a treat. Only thing I would try to avoid when visiting is seating... More

I decided to take my girlfriend to this restaurant as I used to go there some 5 years ago and it was good both in term of service and the food. Long story short, we ordered the testing menus, the meze and the grill. From the two the meze was quite good but the grill was basically horrible. It was... More

I am in Uppsala for work and wanted to go for a meal with a work friend. This was a greta choice. Good French wine, excellent meze which was an easily big enough meal for us, reasonable prices, perfect service.

We had a great evening at Hodja! The interior and atmosphere is warm, inviting and oriental. The meze and wine were delicious and service was fast. No loud music. Good for a romantic dinner or sharing turkish delicacies with some friends

The layout is a bit odd - our group was in a narrow side-room, so I didn't get a sense of what the main salon was like, though the general atmosphere was quiet & informal, in an agreeable eastern-seraglio type decor. We had the mezze, which I found undistinguished - the baba ghanouj, for example, lacked the tang of charred... More

Description
Restaurant Hodja in Uppsala is about the whole experience. When you step into the restaurant, you feel the warm atmosphere and that is the feeling we want you to take with you when you step out of the door. In a restaurant that is wonderfully decorated with three different rooms, we want to take our guests on a journey.

"Barrummet" is the first room that is faced with a fabric roof that resembles cloud hanging lamps in various colors. After that the "love room" with small tables and one wall covered in fabric in different colors. Finally, the "Glass Room" where you are greeted by a long elegant sofa along the brick wall and an opening glass roof.
