If you really want Finnish cuisine (maybe somewhat touristic) this is the place to be. Service is sometimes great, then again sometimes a little arrogant.

This is more like a family home than a restaurant. The food is varied and excellent, though quite meat oriented. Service was efficient, the atmosphere a rustic delight, great acoustics - gentle music and conversations without shouting. The Karelian Casserole is strongly recommended.

We had an enjoyable night with very friendly and helpful staff. Our first time in Finland and we were keen to explore the local food and drinks. We had the sample plates of local meats & fish for an entree and the reindeer steak and 10 hour cooked lamb. Both were very enjoyable. The only criticism was the portion sizes... More

The food was delicious and the chefs very kindly made alterations for me due to food allergies. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. To be recommended for sure.

The food is traditional Finnish, good quality but the portions are really small and prices are ridiculously high. The view and the atmosphere of the restaurant are special if you are lucky to get a table with view to the Senate Square.

The food is great. It is Finnish, but has some twist in it. The ambient is nice, a bit like in the old Finnish timber men's house (savotta in Finnish). Service was excellent and the view to the main church is nice.

A real surprise. I'm vegetarian and expected it to be difficult to find anything to eat, let alone anything good. It was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. Cannot find a fault. The meat eaters were equally impressed.

I ordered fish soup, it was very salty and even the butter was super salty. The bread came cold and hard. Also the beef stew is tasteless. Really disappointed.

This traditional Finnish restaurant overlooks Helsinki's Senate Square and so you have great views while you eat. The menu comes in many languages, including Finnish, Swedish, German, English, Japanese and Mandarin, and the food on there is explained by pleasant and helpful staff. There's a good mixture of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, and I found the food to be... More
