Lovely dinner in a quit place in cozy surroundings. Beautiful and tasteful dinner with fish/salmon as the theme. I hope more people will visit this little nice place.

This was attached to our hotel and our guides told us breakfast here was included every day so each morning we made our way down to the buffet. It had plenty of food. From pastries, to bacon to warm bread to sausages to eggs to potatoes to yogurt, oatmeal, fruits, ham, salami, cheese, plenty of teas to choose from and... More

We had a recommendation to eat here but we're a little skeptical because its reviews on Trip Advisor were not all great. However, 8 of us went and had a wonderful meal, one worthy of great accolades. Asta greeted us as we got there and was able to answer all questions we had about the various dishes. A variety of... More

Well I had already written a review for this restaurant and they blocked it and accused me of saying I hadn't eaten here. Yes I had and at no point have I ever suggested you serve a buffet. I think they just don't like people who point out that they serve whale and puffin and that we would not have... More

My fiance and I were in Reykjavik in August, this was our 4th visit and we had always been intrigued by Fjalakotturinn, we decided to push the boat out on our last night, and go for the seafood buffet, unfortunately it was not what we expected! we are both lovers of seafood, and consider ourselves foodies who like to eat... We had a fabulous taste of Iceland. The 5 course taster menu was quite generous and was absolutely fabulous. The staff were very pleasant and the pace of the meal was just right.

Every cuisine has its memorable qualities. The French are known for their sauces, the Italians for their pasta, the Indians for their spices, etc. Icelandic cuisine highlights what food really should be - highly flavorful and incredibly fresh. So, its most memorable quality is that Icelandic cuisine speaks for itself. Flavors shine through in their purity and authenticity. Fish is... More

We were staying in the Centrum Hotel, otherwise I am not sure we would have been aware of this restaurant given the number to chose from in the area. In the event we were so impressed with the food the first night (artic char, steak and lamb) that we went back again - not something we do very often. We... More
