I will acknowledge it was 5 a.m. and I'd been enjoying Reykjavik's late night culture coupled w/ the fact there was no obnoxious line, so maybe that made the hot dog taste just a tad bit better. But never mind that! As stated above, I had my doubts but nope. Good taste, good snap. Solid hot dog

Who would have guessed we would go to Reykjavik to eat hot dogs. Precisely what we did one cool morning. Found the hot dog stand using google maps and after purchase (they accepted credit cards!) stood out in the fresh crisp air rating hot dogs. Tasty with mustard and all the relish. Best consumed piping hot. Worth the walk there.

I'm not entirely sure what all the excitement is about. We had a good hot dog, of about the same quality as you'd find at any ballpark or hot dog stand. The communication and patience of the staff are minimal, and they expect you to know what you're about when you arrive at the window. Though it wasn't anything special,... More

This is supposed to be a Reykjavik highlight. I can't understand why. Pleasant service from a hole-in-the-wall offers pale hot dogs (beef, pork, lamb) that have little distinctive flavor. Slathered with a type of mustard and onions, they are messy to eat. YET there are always line-ups.

Coming from the NJ/NYC area a good NYC hot dog always hits the spot, but these hot dogs blew those out of the water. Everything about these hotdogs were amazing. I want one with every meal. We seriously considered getting these every night for dinner, and did 3 times! Do not miss these hotdogs!!

The price is very friendly. Special source and fried onion make hot dog a very icelandic taste The day we visit is rainy, so no long queue.

It is the most unassuming place, but it too, us at least 10 minutes to get to the top of the line. Their sausages are made from beef, lamb and pork. It is a simple hot dog, but much admired by the 'Great and the Good', Bill Clinton has eaten there! You will end two and that will cost 900... More

although it sells normal hotdogs with no special toppings it is a must when visiting reykjavik as it is a huge hotspot you eat outside in the cold but there is almost always a long line the only thing they sell there is hotdogs, soda and chocolate milk, a must try in iceland thing.

They lived up to their nameshake. These hot dogs are so good I decided to bring 2 packages home for families to try. You can definitely taste the lamb in the dogs. Not overpowering but just enough to tell you its there. Also the cheapest eats that's great in Iceland. Highly recommended.

Thank David F

Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe.

The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal band Metallica.

A hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remoladi, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. Hot dogs are often ordered with "the works," i.E., All condiments, or in Icelandic "eina med ollu".
