On our Last night we tried the Skolabru and we certainly were not disappointed. Great set meals on offer alongside the Al la Carte menu. The goose Carpaccio and lobster Soup were beautiful and the rack of lamb was divine. Dessert yummy 😋 The portions are on the small side but that suits me (we didn't experience any huge portions... We were a group of 12 friends and family and decided to eat here based on top class recommendations. We had a great experience. Excellence service and delicious food. The fish, lobster, rack of lamb, steak, in fact everything was top class and fresh. This is an extremely expensive restaurant in world terms but well worth the expense. Highly recommended.

We came here on the recommendation of an Icelander - and we were delighted with the quality and ambiance of the restaurant. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented and very delicious.

Dropped in after a few drinks celebrating St Patrick's Day. Was a bit surprised that we did not need a booking. Food was great. For starters my wife had lobster soup. Nice but a little tasteless. I had the duo of puffin and Goose carpaccio and it was fantastic. Mains my wife had the salmon, it was large and tastie.... More

Visited here with my wife after a stroll around town. We opted for the lamb and lobster set menu. My wife thourghly enjoyed hers and my rack of lamb was the best lamb I have ever tasted. Service was attentive without being over bearing. A fantastic experience

This was a very restaurant and nice food - but rather small plates The house red wine was superb and was reasonably priced

Had a very good night in here. Service was good for a large group. Food especially good and obviously the beer flowing. Would definitely recommend this place as a must visit in Reykjavik.

8pm: 26/02/16 Skolabru is old fashioned because it kept the architectural history of the famous surgeon who built and owned it. That's what makes it special. If you want contemporary pared down surroundings, this isn't for you. Go elsewhere. Our second visit in two years. Would never think for one minute about avoiding this place on our itinerary (and after... More

The restaurant has a pretty stuffy vibe and it feels like they are trying too hard to be fine dining. Several items on the menu were unavailable, possibly due to a fishing strike. Our waiter must have been new as every question we asked caused him to go and find help (even very simple ones!). The food was pretty good,... More

On a short break to Reykjavik and picked out this restaurant as one of two to visit for dinner. Checked the website which said it was open and booked a table using open table. Got a confirmed reservation and travelled to the Restaurant (30th Jan) only to find it closed. Checked the restaurant website which said it was open... Nothing... More
