I was honestly surprised by the food level in Forrettabarinn. With its cozy, pub-ish feel, it definitely does not strike you as a place that offers such sophisticated food. The menu is divided in small and grand 'appetizers' (don't let that mislead you, the grand appetizers lack nothing compared to a regular dish apart from a bit of volume), ranging... More

Enjoyed the quality, creativity and variety of the dishes. One of our best meals during the week in Iceland.

Lovely local food at a reasonable price for Reykjavik. Would highly recommend the Langoustine Soup!! Best dinner in Reykjavik.

Delicious meal right across the street from the Marina hotel. They offer three prix fixe menus which are a good deal for expensive Iceland. They also have other things on the menu as well. Portions were large, I had the Smokily bay Prix fixe, the salmon, and carpaccio was was out of this world. Lamb was delicious.

We went here twice during a week in Iceland as the food was delicious and well priced for Reykjavik. Highly recommended. I had the mussels one night and the lamb the second. My partner had the horse and then the mussels. All top quality ingredients and loved the open kitchen atmosphere.

If you're looking for a (relatively) inexpensive dinner you should head to this place. They offer small and large courses. The lobster soup was a winner: thick and creamy, perfect for a cold day. The beef carpaccio melted in your mouth and came decorated with a salad. For the larger courses we chose Arctic char and horse fillet. The chat... More

This restaurant is high class and specializes in starters and appetizers, though they do have a 4 course set menu. We opted for grand appetizers and it was plenty of food. The quality of the ingredients, preparation and presentation were all fantastic. I would definitely go back again. By the time we left, the place was full, so get reservations... More

We visited this restaurant after looking on trip advisor for recommendations. We were staying near the harbour so made our way (in a blizzard!) to this lovely restaurant. The food portions are plenty so we were stuffed after two courses. The quality of the food was also excellent. Friendly service. The food came quickly but the servers are a little... More

Comfortable small restaurant, serving a limited menu of appetizers, typically in combination. Food and service were excellent. Conveniently located near many major attractions. Pricey but not for Iceland. Sampled duck, horse, lamb, salmon, bbq pork. Portions are appetizer-sized and meat component is correspondingly sized. We had 2 each and were well satisfied. Attractive atmosphere and excellent service.
