If you want a gourmet choice of thick, sloppy and top of the notch subs, go to Hlöllabátar. There is a lot of choice on the menu, along with burgers and kids menu. Each sub is distinct and comes in two sizes. Their sauce is awesome but for the full stomach experience ask for the Tuddi or Bull(dont say bull,... More

Just like many before me had mentioned, this place is the bomb. I have a little bit of sticker shock on the prices around town. For 2 sandwiches (foot long), I paid $30 US. Still, higher than what I'm used to, of course, but this will feed me for two days. So if you're on a budget, you want good... More

Our family loved a variety of the subs offered at Hlollabatar. The restaurant was popular and the food was very tasty, satisfying, and inexpensive (for Reykjavik). We happily went out of our way the next day to go back there and enjoy some more.

This is quick, cheap (for Iceland standards) and a average sandwich. It was decent, but nothing fabulous.

ok Canada has Japadog. Iceland has Hlollabatar. there's hotdog stands here and there, some are rated the best or whatever. I had one with French fries on it elsewhere. but this place, with the bacon, or the deepfried one with the mayo oozed into a tube bun. just. it's deadly whether you're coming from the pub or exploring the city.... I wanted a quick sandwich to eat while shopping, so I stopped in. I got a steak sandwich, and it was surprisingly good (and this is coming from someone who grew up in the cheesesteak city). The bread was incredibly tasty, and the proportion of each of the ingredients was perfect. Best of all - cheap! There are a couple... More

The boats they sell are very good,Some people love the Hlolla souse but personally then that is not my style. The best is a Chicken,Cheese, and veg stuff..... Only negative is the price on soda drinks that is over the roof and simply greedy and needs to be put down.

The locals don't tend to go to other famous chain of sandwich makers, they tend to go to Hlöllabatar. They have a huge selection of sandwiches for everybody. They are quite famous here in Iceland and their food tastes awesome. When out drinking in Reykjavik at night, you will see a huge queue in front as everybody is going for... More

This is a fast-food type take out restaurant or with a few bar stools at a counter if you want to "eat-in". It's located in the "town square" area of the city center. We had the lamb and ham sandwich and Pepsi. It was very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was fast and pleasant. There were picnic tables outside for... More

Were in a hurry and needed a quick lunch on our way back from downtown, grabbed four different sandwiches from this place - and everything was Delish! We couldn't decide which one we liked best - even the picky kids were happy.
