We did this as we wanted to try out the local "end of the night" food. It converted to £38 for 2 baguette sandwiches and a large chips (which is large!) Everywhere in Reykjavik is extremely expensive in comparison to the UK but having said that the food from here was absolutely delicious especially the sauce! The chips also have... More

This fast food burger sub sandwich restaurant is located in front of the Plaza Centre Hotel which is next to the lnformation Centre. They burgers and subs and variety of drinks. Seating places is limited. The subs are really tasty with their special sauce and service is superfast. Go for it if you want or need a tasty meal on... More

My friend and I stopped by here on the way home from the bar one night. We each tried different ones that the cashier recommended. Delicious and filling! And a nice way to warm up on a cold night. I might have liked these better than the famous icelandic hotdogs actually. Wanted to stop by again on our last night... More

Simple yet effective and filled the hour I had between tours to get food. Happy to go back again and try the hot dogs.

If you want a gourmet choice of thick, sloppy and top of the notch subs, go to Hlöllabátar. There is a lot of choice on the menu, along with burgers and kids menu. Each sub is distinct and comes in two sizes. Their sauce is awesome but for the full stomach experience ask for the Tuddi or Bull(dont say bull,... More

Just like many before me had mentioned, this place is the bomb. I have a little bit of sticker shock on the prices around town. For 2 sandwiches (foot long), I paid $30 US. Still, higher than what I'm used to, of course, but this will feed me for two days. So if you're on a budget, you want good... More

Our family loved a variety of the subs offered at Hlollabatar. The restaurant was popular and the food was very tasty, satisfying, and inexpensive (for Reykjavik). We happily went out of our way the next day to go back there and enjoy some more.

This is quick, cheap (for Iceland standards) and a average sandwich. It was decent, but nothing fabulous.

ok Canada has Japadog. Iceland has Hlollabatar. there's hotdog stands here and there, some are rated the best or whatever. I had one with French fries on it elsewhere. but this place, with the bacon, or the deepfried one with the mayo oozed into a tube bun. just. it's deadly whether you're coming from the pub or exploring the city.... I wanted a quick sandwich to eat while shopping, so I stopped in. I got a steak sandwich, and it was surprisingly good (and this is coming from someone who grew up in the cheesesteak city). The bread was incredibly tasty, and the proportion of each of the ingredients was perfect. Best of all - cheap! There are a couple... More
