We learned about this bakery after talking to other guests at our hotel. The prices at this bakery were much more reasonable than any other bakery we've been to in Reykjavik. It's a little off the main drag but not far and an easy 5 minute walk. They still had a decent selection at 4pm on a Saturday. The staff... More

We stayed across the road from this bakery, and went in there every day for 4 days. Everything we tried was delicious - particularly the ham and cheese croissants. Coffee was an auto machine and very ordinary. But the funniest thing was the consistently grumpy staff - I took it as a challenge to smile and be extra friendly to... More

Very friendly staff. Plenty of choice of sweet and savoury dishes to sit in or takeaway. Relaxed place.

We ordered 2 croissants with ham and cheese and 2 coffees to go. Tasted good. But the coffee was too strong

You know you're in an authentic bakery when most of the people around you are speaking the native language rather than English. Such is the case at this friendly well-stocked bakery just two blocks off the main Luagavegur shopping street. Their kleine twisted pastries are delicious as was the hjonabandssaelur, a cookie-like three-layer rhubarb crumb cake. It's easy to miss,... More

This bakery recently moved to a new location, Klapparstig 3. It was a landmark in the neighborhood where I usually stay when I come to Iceland (frequently!), serving locals and tourists alike. It's worth the 3-minute walk to the new location, if you like fresh bread a variety of loaves awaits, as well as delicious pastries, like "vinarbraud", a sweet... More

Buy your bread here and find the cheese shop round the corner for cheeses and delicious deli foods. I bake my own bread at home so bought bread has to be good. This has excellent breads. We bought an Icelandic barley and a pumpkin seed loaf. Both extremely tasty good crumb and lovely chewy crust. Very moorish.

I'm not a foodie, but I am a bread snob. I judge entire nations by their bread. So take my word for it: this place is a genuine bakery with a good range of fresh, satisfying loaves and sweets. Just a quick stroll down a side street off the Laugavegur will take you to a snug little bakery that's definitely... More

I love finding little gems off the beaten path. This bakery is located on a smaller side street in the heart of Reykjavik. We were staying at an apartment a few blocks down and would pass it everyday walking to the main streets in downtown. We tried several pastries the first day we were there and were hooked! We went... We stayed in an AirBnB just down the street, and found this bakery to be a Godsend. Fabulous bread and pastries, and tasty sandwiches and coffee available which can be eaten on the premises. Well worth a visit, as in addition this boasts to be the oldest patisserie in Reykjavik - so, heritage as well as delicious and welcome things... More
